I am in a debate and I was wondering what verses deal with these two different sins. Thanks
I John 5:15-16. Some translations use the words “unto death” (i.e., deadly, i.e., mortal).I am in a debate and I was wondering what verses deal with these two different sins. Thanks
1 John 5, 16-17: If any one sees his brother committing what is not a mortal sin, he will ask, and God will give him life for those whose sin is not mortal. There is sin which is mortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal.I am in a debate and I was wondering what verses deal with these two different sins. Thanks
Mortal sins are grave sins which greatly offend God and can cause one to lose their salvation. Paul makes this list a few times in his writings, here are some examples:I am in a debate and I was wondering what verses deal with these two different sins. Thanks
Yes, it’s right there in John’s epistle.1 John 5, 16-17: If any one sees his brother committing what is not a mortal sin, he will ask, and God will give him life for those whose sin is not mortal. There is sin which is mortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal.
