But he’s okay with imposing a lot of other things on other people against their views born out of their faith, including paying for abortions.will not impose “a precise view, that is born out of my faith, on other people.”
Which is why there are like 0 pro-life federally elected Democrats. He did say, however, that the Democratic Party should welcome pro-life members: “Absolutely. Absolutely, positively.”

Biden is imposing ‘a lot of other things’ - like what? I don’t think the Vice-President has a whole lot of control over ‘other things’. The Executive Branch, do you mean? Or his Democratic Party? Or perhaps you mean the Judicial Branch of government and their recent decisions? But he’s okay with imposing a lot of other things on other people against their views born out of their faith, including paying for abortions.
.
I beleive that Reps Matt Cartwright, Henry Cuellar, James Langevin, and Collin Peterson are also prolife Democrats. That being said having 5 Representatives out of what, 190 democrats in the house isn’t exactly a glowing endorsement for the party. I don’t think there are any truely prolife Democrats left in the Senate. There is one…Dan Lapinski, u.s.house rep from IL
Nothing personal, but San Francisco isn’t exactly the place I’d look to for endorsement of morality. Given how many avowed Catholics there that wanted to ride the Archbishop out on the rails I’d question what they believe a good Catholic politician is. As for Catholics should be proud of him, all I can say is…Vice President Biden is an honorable servant of this government. I think more people (at least in MY community) respect his faith as a Roman Catholic as they have seen it in action throughout his career than just about anyone else in public office. Catholics should be proud of him.
Not surprising, since the Democratic Platform has expressly pro-abortion language. Every pro-life Democrat has to run against his own party’s platform. And don’t even try to get a pro-life speaker at the convention.I beleive that Reps Matt Cartwright, Henry Cuellar, James Langevin, and Collin Peterson are also prolife Democrats. The issue isn’t about Mr. Biden’s Faith. We don’t know what his conscience says. But his support of policies contrary to Church teaching are troubling, even if he is just along for the ride, for lack of a better phrase.Biden is imposing ‘a lot of other things’ - like what? And imposing paying for abortions? Who does? The government? Biden? Health care?
I kind of got lost in your point. Sorry.

That is a very good question. I am assuming that you mean politically, yes? Or at least as he is performing his job.I wonder if those same community members would support Mr. Biden if he were pro-life and pro-marriage?
Yes the VP has often referred to the importance of his Catholic faith in his personal life and how his church’s social justice teaching profoundly influences him. And I just heard him the other week on Stephen Colbert’s show speaking about how much he prays the rosary and the solace and peace it provides him.Vice President Biden is an honorable servant of this government. Sy Noe, if we look at Catholics in the public arena here in the US, I think VP Biden is one many people really admire. He speaks of how his faith has supported him, but in a very humbling way.Yes the VP has often referred to the importance of his Catholic faith in his personal life and how his church’s social justice teaching profoundly influences him. Please.
If we changed the object of the sentence with regards to Biden to something Catholics should equally abhor, it makes him look completely fraudulent and cowardly.
Biden:
“I am personally opposed to rape, but do not believe it the government’s responsibility to impose that on people.”
“I am personally opposed to lynching minorities, but do not believe it the government’s responsibility to impose that on people.”
But somehow, we think it is okay when he says this about murder?
Either he believes aboirtion, gay marriage, and a host of other grave evils are fine and supports them (making him a liar), or he opposes them and is simply too cowardly to defend the Church and God. Which is it?
As applies to anyone of us, all the good in other areas cannot measure up to failings on such key, fundamental, moral issues.
Regardless, knowing Biden, he probably believes this is a visit from Pope John Paull II, and that he is coming next week vice this one.
Oops, sorry. I missed the only 4 federally elected Democrats who don’t worship at the altar of dead babies but still sign up with a party who thinks killing kids should be a big part of ther platform.Umm yes there are. democratsforlife.org
ComplineSan Fran, I think you might be right. Of course then on this forum you might get a discussion on whether our Veep is practicing or even Catholic.Sy Noe, if we look at Catholics in the public arena here in the US, I think VP Biden is one many people really admire. From all the polls we have read recently from PEW, perhaps this is a picture of who practicing Catholics are today. They care about personal faith. They care about social justice issues. They care about women’s health care. They care about equality. Maybe it IS that I live in San Francisco, but when I travel and speak to those Catholics who practice their faith, they look more like Joe Biden than they do Rick Santorum.
