I now understand why particular Orthodox churches would not desire unity with Rome.
Yeah, they still do.Somehow, balloons don’t seem so bad…
Where did you see that this was a Mass? And, for that matter, when and how did business anything become the standard for the Holy Sacrifice? What a disgraceful mass - business casual must be done away with as well.
Hahaha what dark times!I noticed that most were doing the parallel windshild-wiper-together movement, like on buses, but the Franciscans were doing the windshield-wiper-separate movement, like on cars. So, it is troubling to see that a schism seems to already be brewing within the Lateran-charismatic movement.
The bottom line is that you cant tell from the video but just the fact that it is not beyond the realm of belief that it could be a Mass is a problem. However, Mass or not, this kind of foolishness belongs in a convention center, not in a place of prayer.First of all, there seems to be little evidence that what appears in that video is in fact a Mass - a poster on the website where the video is posted states it was a prayer meeting, not a Mass. I was unable to see any vested celebrant or servers in the sanctuary. As such, it may not be to everyone’s taste. Second, to say that *“every single Novus Ordo Mass is like that” *as you did is a gross untruth and a confessable calumny.
I second that statement. Far from encouraging unity, this kind of silliness only serves to drive away the people worth being united with.I now understand why particular Orthodox churches would not desire unity with Rome.
I third that statement.I second that statement. Far from encouraging unity, this kind of silliness only serves to drive away the people worth being united with.
I have an issue with defining worth of other people for whom Christ considered worth dying for.I second that statement. Far from encouraging unity, this kind of silliness only serves to drive away the people worth being united with.
Really, the most sinful thing about the video is that it was labeled a bordello. It looks like the reform of the reform is really taking hold in Rome…

Quite true. Nevertheless, an issue I have with practices in the Church today is that nothing is truly defined regarding sacred and profane. Thus, leading to a free-for-all during the context of the liturgy (albeit the video does not highlight a Mass, but instead pray meeting).Really, the most sinful thing about the video is that it was labeled a bordello.
Who here is lacking respect for the sacred? Those who bring pretty colored balloons in, with a pure but less educated heart, or someone who knows his latin rite, but calls the Church in Christ’s True Presence, a bordello?
There is nothing to show that this isn’t a Mass but even if it isn’t, this kind of hootenanny does NOT belong in a Roman Catholic Church or Basilica. It belongs in a convention center or in St. Peter’s Square. So take it out there!I think something that harms unity is people posting on boards like this and not adding any context. Worse, implying that something happened when really that wasn’t the case. We’ve established now that this was most likely not a Mass, but a prayer meeting. And really, it didn’t take all that much to see that it wasn’t a Mass. Yet people responded to this video as if it was.
Pretty sad if you ask me.
Grace, in italian a usual meaning of bordello is a mess or craziness. Calmati, signora.Really, the most sinful thing about the video is that it was labeled a bordello.

I looked it up before I wrote my post.Grace, in italian a usual meaning of bordello is a mess or craziness. Calmati, signora.
I know, and if men don’t wear at least a tie or if the women don’t cover their heads we should kick them out of the Church before Mass starts, right? Right? There is nothing to show that this isn’t a Mass but even if it isn’t, this kind of hootenanny does NOT belong in a Roman Catholic Church or Basilica. What’s extreme about dressing appropriately for our Lord? Would it be better if everyone showed up in a robe and sandals?IThe problem with being extreme about things is even when you are being reasonable, people still think you’re being extreme as always.
Better call BXVI and inform him of these monstrosities STAT!
Nothing wrong with dressing up, but you don’t know people’s situations and their hearts. Lets say, six years ago I showed up to your Church wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Would there be a problem with that? What’s extreme about dressing appropriately for our Lord? Would it be better if everyone showed up in a robe and sandals?
No sense of humor eh?First of all, there seems to be little evidence that what appears in that video is in fact a Mass - a poster on the website where the video is posted states it was a prayer meeting, not a Mass.
