You don’t think Christian homophobia is real?
How about you giving us an example of what you consider to be homophobia that has occurred on this thread.
“Homophobia” is one of those focus group-tested words that liberals invented to intimidate those of us who believe that REAL marriage is sacred, and foundational in any civil society. There is no fear, but rather utter disgust with a group so intolerant and hateful of traditional views that no one steps in to stop fiends from beating a man. Rob
I guess they consider it “homophobic” that we believe that marriage is sacred and should not be redefined, and that we believe that every child has a right to have both a mother and a father, and that we don’t like it when they beat us up, or when they protest at the Vatican by screaming and getting naked with obscenities written on their naked bodies, or when they invade and disrupt holy Mass.

I didnt see that… livingwordunity was trying to make a point. livingwordunity even said wbc was bad… but not near as bad as the ‘gay’ agenda. Obvious when the ‘gay’ agenda resorts to violence. So you post is incorrect.
Wow, defending the WBC. This is a new low. :dts:

The “gay” activists can’t win an argument by trying to argue with what we actually say.

THIS!! 👍

Most liberals can’t either, that’s why they can’t stick to the argument but wander off throwing in all sorts of green herrings. :o

( Bolded mine ) : Ithink the second one would be… because it could keep them from reaching out… and maybe just maybe… get some ppl to see the light and understand that being activley ‘gay’ is a moral sin… and needs to stop.
Would this be a red herring?
Or maybe a green herring?

EDITED: If we’re going in the direction of which is worse for Christianity, then which is worse:
people at Pridefest attacking religious protestors
or
religious protestors not protesting for fear of being attacked by people at Pridefest?

I see “WBC vs. Gay Activities” as analogous to “Heresy vs. Heterodoxy”. In deciding which is more damaging to Christianity (the ONLY thing that really matters), I’d say heresy is worse.

If you believe “the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church”, then a violent response to Catholic defenders of the faith will always eventually work to the benefit of the Church.

However, I would like to know who these Christians are that go to Pridefest parades and hold up signs with slogans. What exactly are they protesting and what do they hope to accomplish?
So basically, the ideal situation here might be for Catholics to attend Pridefest in order to convert non-Catholic Christians as well as to defend the Faith.

Where they would be subject to physical attacks.

Where they would be subject to physical attacks.
Your point is granted.

Other alternatives available to the Catholic include the following:
  1. During the daily Rosary, people so moved can pray for intentions including the conversion of sinners, the conversion of non-Catholic Christians, a return to a proper understanding of traditional marriage between one man and one woman, an end to violence, the protection of religious freedom.
  2. While quietly going about one’s daily life, offer penance along with the Fatima sacrifice prayer: “O Jesus, it is for the love of You, in reparation for the offences committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and for the conversion of poor sinners.”
  3. Make a Holy Hour of Reparation in a Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel or in front of a tabernacle and offer the Fatima angel’s prayer: “O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.”

Much better than telling a group of people that they are going to hell.

Now you’ve moved the goal posts again. You accused posters here on CAF of being homophobic.

Are the Christian homophobes in the world? Yes, never met any, but see it in comments sections of newspapers.

But none here on CAF.
Christian homophobia is not the same thing as Christians who are homophobic. Christian homophobia is an irrational fear that an organized “gay agenda” exists, whose aim is to persecute Christians in particular for proselytizing their beliefs about marriage and chastity.

This fear is fueled by propaganda reports such as the one in the OP. Putting aside the fact that such reports are seldom 100% accurate, simply having such reports “go viral” on the internet creates the illusion that a rare event is actually the norm. Posting then on internet forums is part of the process.

The reality is that everyday, there are thousands of interactions between gay people and Christians, most of which are entirely peaceful even when the parties disagree. How many of your personal interactions with gay people have ended in violence? Why aren’t your gay in-laws trying to beat you up?

Don’t buy into the illusion created by the master of illusions. There are places in the world were Christians are being killed for their beliefs. This obsession over the “gay agenda” is not only unfair to gay people, but distracts from the attention we should be paying to the real persecution of our brothers and sisters in places like China and Egypt.

I second this response! 👍

I’ve participated in the March for Life event in Washington, DC on several occasions to support the rights of the unborn, as well as prayed the Rosary outside of abortion clinics while other pro-lifers of different religions were present … and never once did I hear anyone tell anyone else that they were going to hell.

I haven’t ever personally attended a public event to protest the gay agenda.

Where you ever assaulted at any of the events you did attend?

How exactly would you go about protesting the “gay agenda” if you were inclined to do so?

  1. No, I was not assaulted at any pro-life event I attended.
  2. I once made a visit to the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel to make a Holy Hour of Reparation for people marching in a gay pride parade. At the time, it didn’t occur to me to say the Fatima angel’s prayer … I can easily remedy that the next time I go to the Adoration Chapel.
So this thread has served a purpose in my case.
