Vienna : Catholic Church gave for free it's church to the Serbian Orthodox Church

Roman-Catholic Church in Vienna gave for free it’s church, big church, to the Serbian Orthodox Church. Roman-Catholic Church explained it that Roman-Catholic Church has many churches in Vienna, many of them completely unused, while Serbian Orthodox Church has only few Churches which are not enough to answer the need of large Serbian Orthodox Population. There are around 180 000 Serbs living in Vienna (city’s 1.7 million population) and they are the biggest minority in the city and in Austria as well, 350 000.

These Serbian bishops seem to be grateful for the gift given to them. Many of us are praying that this happy event might serve to foster better relations between Roman Catholics and Serbian Orthodox in spite of the horrific historical events which have caused alienation between the two Churches.
