The communist authorities want to expropriate more land belonging to the Redemptorists . Development plans and economic interests behind the seizure. Priests and faithful say the measure is “illegal”, unethical and violates the rights of the Christian community.

The Communist government of Vietnam keeps doing its best to steal Church land and suppress the Church.
 
Wow. That is incredibly sad. 😦 I really feel sorry for Catholics and other Christians in nations like Vietnam where religious freedom is practically non-existent.
 
Catholics were the leading land owner at one time. I can’t remember how they acquired the land. I think the Buddhists donated it to them.
