I have studied WWII in Europe for over 30 years. If you check your history you will find that you know nothing of the events leading up to WWII. The Germans and the Poles were bitter enemies. The Poles committed numerous atrocities against the Germans who were living in the new areas of Poland that were stolen from Germany after Wilson lied to them about not holding them responsible for WWI. You never hear about it in mainstream history but if you look into the National archives of Germany and Britian you will find much political correspondence about these atrocities including repeated requests from Germany for international observers that were always blocked by Poland and Britian. You will also find scores of newspaper articles about them in the microfilm libraries of major Euorpean newspapers. Uncomfortable history to be sure but no less true. Poland was no innocent little country as it has been portrayed in the history books written by our side and any historian worth a dime is of the opinion that the major cause of WWII was the Treaty of Versailles and the punishments inflicted on Germany after they were promised that no such thing would be done if they agreed to cease hostilities.

And no, no one thought Hitler was a joke. Everyone knew he was a threat.

Yes, there are obviously things worth fighting for but you need to pick your battles. Going after South Park which no one takes seriously will only help South Park. Meanwhile, other genuine threats to the church go merrily about their business.

Yeah, I remember much the same from my college days a few years ago. I used to watch and think it was the funniest thing since well Bevis and Butthead. After I had a conversion, I realized how much this stuff was just junk; trash in – trash out. But this is really the sad state that the youth is in right now. Pretty much accept the culture of relativism just out of pure laziness, I mean once you look at relativism closely, you’ll easily cast it out. Though its more complicated than this, but how’s going to keep a system that might say its ok for the Nazis to do what they did, cause they thought it was ok?

I think there are sinister forces at work here. But when you come to the South Parks they are just the pawns. The has to be some of the movers and shakers in Hollywood that understand. The ones who give you the MTVs, Logos, Comedy Central. I’m sure they think they are doing a good, but really it is skewed. If your going to take action, thats where the battle really needs to take place.

If you actually know a viewer and confront them on this, chances are they’ll probably understand once you explain it to them. I think truely there is a thirst for something with a little more content if only you can challenge them with something a little more.

I agree- OH MY! It appears you may have reponded to my first post addressed to you and not bothered to continue with finishing reading the rest of the other threads (including my next one this morning) before submitting your rebuttal here (you would have seen my apology). I had no idea that pacificts fit a certain physical bill. I’m sorry I have no world history degree, please forgive me! You’re right- the Polish committed many atrocities that I obviously am unaware of. I’m sure it must have merited what the Nazi’s did to them. I’ll have to ask my Polish family members why they never bothered to fill me in. And I’m sure Mary must have done something to merit what happened to her.

You are right- up until awhile ago I had read very few of your posts. So in all fairness, I took the time to read a GREAT deal of them. We actually have a lot in common as far as our stance on alot of issues, which surprises me about your response to this issue. I have no major issues with the death penalty, I don’t own a gun myself,but I have no problem with the right to carry, I am pro-war-on-terrorsm, but I am not a 270 lb. bodybuilder (my brother-in-law is, does that count?)I am a small 120lb. stay-at-home mom with nothing higher than a high school degree, who as you pointed out, obviously knows absolutely nothing about WWII in Europe. I cannot even begin to compare to someone who has spent 30 years studying it, which you have pointed out on more than one occasion.

Look- this is silly. I know I said this before, but I’m done with this thread. I could keep coming back with a response, but then you would probably do the same and it may never end until we get into trouble here for not being charitable. I know I feel like I have not been treated charitibly, and you probably feel the same. You said I am clueless about you, but that works both ways, my friend. We are both on this board, so I’m sure we have many good things in common. Why don’t we just agree that each are passionate about certain things?

When I watched MTV in my youth, I saw commercials on there promoting birth control. One news release recently said that condoms do not contribute to the AIDS virus. I was flabbergasted! But since I was so much into sexuality back then that it didn’t matter. Then what happened was at work I was looking at Playboy, one of the workers brought in. One Baptist woman told me to stay away. At first I ignored her warnings, but then I thought, “Do you want to get called for sexual harrassment?”, my conscience told me. That was a rude wake up call! It was like I was committing sexual sins without even realizing it! That is, I refused to recognize what I was doing. Then after a while it piled up! And after a while I realized it’s time to stop! And I did. This is what watching MTV, commedy central do to you! This a perfect example of giving into hatred of God, and being sucked in without even realizing it. This is why our nation has lost conscienceness of sin. This is an example of why indirect hatred of God is much more diabolical.

I would have to agree with you. We do have a good deal in common and I am sorry about the WWII rant but it is one of my pet peeves that so many people still believe that Hollywood view of WWII where we are always the purely innocent “good guys” and the Germans were the personification of evil. No event in history was as one-sided as the perception that has been painted of that war. But to stay on topic… my only disagreement with you on this is that attacking the show by writing to the network or whoever only promotes the show and gets others who do not watch it interested in what they are missing that could cause such a stir.

I see it highly unlikely that the Comedy Central would boast to anyone a grumpy letter of little ole me and therefore bring more attention to one of their many junky programs (I’m sure it will probably be ignored), so though I may not make a dent in their ratings or in their concience for that matter, at I’ll least have been able to let them know how I feel.

Hey, if doing so will make you feel good that is a good enough reason to go for it. I guess you never know, your letter may end up in the hands of the one person there that can be reached and who may decide they no longer want to be a part of it. My point was meant for those who thought complaining would somehow hurt the show. Complaining that you were offended by a show the entire purpose of which is to offend is not going to hurt it in any way.

I disagree. I don’t recall hearing of an episode where they made fun of Martin Luther King Jr. or Malcolm X. Are these men more sacred that the Blessed Mother? How about a “Hanky the Kwanza poo”? Oh hold it! It would be a hate-crime to defile any African American leader or tradition. Not that I wouldn’t be offended if they did.

I never watch the show, but here are some groups I don’t recall being defiled:

Atheists
Satanists
ACLU
Communists
Pornographers
Abortionists

I’m pretty sure these groups are “South Park Safe”!

They haven’t ripped MLK… but they do have a black kid on the show named Token. He wears a big T on his chest. They also had an episode where a teacher convinced the townspeople to wear KKK hoods and robes to run the Hollywood black folks out of town. And, they did rip Islam in one show. South Park is definitely an equal opportunity offender.

I should be able to watch what I want, when I want it, without interferance from the religious people of the country. We aren’t trying to get all your shows kicked off sunday morning tv, so leave ours alone too.

I’ll tell you what. Send me a picture of your mother so I can modify it to show blood spurting out of her vagina and rectum. Then I will put on national TV so everyone can point and laugh at her. If you sincerely think that also would be funny, well, I guess that pretty much sums you up.
