I read this awhile ago. I wonder if it could have broken from being pushed over. Horrible either way. I watched the video and could not clearly see if it were made out of plaster or what? The article talks about cutting the statue and it made me wonder how they knew that? Very sad. I for one have witnessed one incident of vandalism (saw the result, not the act). From time to time, it seems to happen sadly.

One day I was praying the rosary and an overwhelming sadness came over me about how horrible Mary has been treated through the years. It came out of no where and brought tears to me. I say an extra rosary a day now for the intention of making reparations for all the horrible things against Mary.
Things like this have happened and someone thinks they are righting a wrong I suppose. We just need to pray for these people and hopefully some light will come into their lives. Vandalism is so confusing to me…any kind of vandalism

As previous posters have mentioned earlier, what we’re looking at here is the end result of allowing Satanic groups into society.
Satanic temple doesn’t get to hold a black mass at Harvard, so they ended up renting the 3rd floor out above a Chinese restaurant. This doesn’t satisfy some individuals and they want to have retalitory consequences. So they go out and choose a Virgin Mary statue to desecrate.
Poor souls with nothing better to offer to society.
I found the Satanic Temple Facebook page this past Monday night. It was stunning, the number of young people who were so eager to bash the religious faithful. Naturally, none of them said anything against Islam…

The Black Mass was originally to occur at Harvard in Massachusetts, cancelled. The vandalism happened in Long Island, NY.

I would have to investigate, but I do know that an outside Satanic group helped the Club with the event. Where they were from? Not sure. Will have to see if I can dig it up.

Yes, you are correct. The club “teamed up” with the “Satanic Temple” based in New York according to everything I found. I would post a link, but am horrible at doing that.
Found the same info in MANY places. The Satanic Temple is based in NEW YORK.

Really!. Last September, my childhood parish–a tiny, blue collar parish on the verge of closure–was vandalized in a similar fashion. A few months later, 2 more local churches were likewise vandalized. Police never called them hate crimes. Nobody charged. Wonder if they even investigated…Of course it’s just vandalism, no “hate crime” here!
