Just to show how far our country and our world have sunk, this is probably not even a top story anymore.

Prayers for the victims and their families.
 
No …that is not what our constitution allows regarding guns.
No it is not the constitution at work;but it is the example of a society that no longer regards murder as an evil. We no longer see the value of human life, and that does reflect our Constitution,which was changed in 1973 by a bunch of lawyers on the supreme court. These judges were not and still are not, moral theologians, scientists or physicians. We will reap the fruits of those decisions until we go back to the original Founding Fathers ‘dead’ Constitution. Our constitution is not meant to change with the whims of a culture that no longer grasps the meaning of natural law and the dignity of human life from conception to natural death. The ten commandments aren’t ten suggestions . The constitution is not a living document as the wise supreme justice Scalia expressed to his colleagues and to those who had ears to hear with.

My heart sunk when I heard the news. 12 people have been killed.

Senseless.

Yeah it’s too bad we have that first amendment too, that protects Americans rights to incite violence. And that religious freedom! Truly American to protect religious extremists when they blow people up with bombs. The constitution at work! Oh wait, no it isn’t. :roll_eyes:

She is saying that the second amendment is directly responsible for this guy murdering his coworkers and that it should be repealed for the good of the country.
 
If it were tainted lettuce, a faulty baby product, a car or plane that caused a death, the lettuce would be off the shelf nationwide, the baby product would be recalled and the plane would be grounded until it was resolved. There would be no use crying over spilled milk, someone was seriously injured or died and before it happens to you, your children, your husband or mother…measures would be taken.

Makes perfect sense to me.

America is a violent culture, this is common place and there will be another.

A firearm is a weapon, killing its intended target is what it is supposed to do. It’s a feature, not a bug.
 
Thank you for your opinion. It’s been a long ride from Sandy Hook, and if there was no ramifications after that Good Lord only knows what it will take.

Guns are made for one thing. To kill. period.

Not really. I don’t see marauding hordes decimating cities and villages. We still have a long way to go before we’re Sparta.

Yes, there will be another incident. This cycle will continue until we treat the underlying causes. Namely, godlessness and mental illness.
 
So your solution is psychiatrists and forced religious indoctrination?

The perpetrator dying seems like a pretty decent ramification. Who else should there have been ramifications against?
 
When the brakes on the car are bad and it rear ends someone and kills a few people, sure it’s the neglect of the individual that didn’t have them repaired.

But to ignore the FACT it was the brakes that caused the accident is also neglect.

Maybe someone behind him with faulty brakes as well could rear end him and wallah, justice is served!~

The thought processes we’ve come to in defense of our beloved guns require scrutiny, and if one is too tired of this or has become immune to this culture, I would suggest a look at what our Holy Father says…but then again I’d be referring to Christians, unselfish ones at that.

edited for: This is one of the most emotionally charged situations we can put our men/women in blue in. Unbelievable craziness. I refuse to see it as common place, yet it is.

Well, the Swiss Guard have guns. They have retained their weapons despite an unfortunate incident in 1998.
