All the top news coverage the last 24 hours has been about the Virginia Tech Shooting Massacre which killed 33 people including the shooter. The coverage of all the media has been about this story the last 24 hours and still going. I feel sorry for the parents, relatives, friends and acquaintainces to all those who were shot/murdered.

Was this really the worst massacre in U.S. History? To my knowlege the U.S. is still killing 4,000 unborn defenseless babies in their mother’s wombs every day. Yet the mainstream media never devotes any time to talking about the 4,000 babies murdered every day. It just makes me sick how the secular media will make a big deal about 33 people murdered at Virginia Tech but will never discuss the 4,000 babies murdered in their mother’s wombs.

Believe me, I am very sorry about the shootings at Virginia Tech. The taking of one life is one life too many. But the media also needs to talk about the tragedy of abortion on our society!

What are your thoughts?

I too am so sorry for what happened and my heart and prayers goes out to the students and the families of the students killed.
It’s so sad that innocent people have to be killed like that for just going to class.

I think there is a link between legal abortion and violence like this- somehow. Didn’t Mother Teresa once say that any society that allows the killing of the unborn would have violence in the streets?

The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between.
Mother Teresa

I agree with you here. I think that any society that accepts abortion, the killing of the most innocent among us, will eventually produce a lot of violence. If the life of the most helpless and inocent, unborn babies, is worthless, the logical outgrowth is that life in general is not very valuable. I don’t now what the abortion law is in South Korea, where the shooter was from, but I’m just speaking in general.

I noticed Mayor Daley of Chicago yesterday started to blame the VT Massacre on guns. Today Rosie O’Donnell on “The View” also went on a tirade blaming the VT Massacre on guns. Here we go again with the same old blame game on the NRA (National Rifle Association) just like what happened after the Columbine Incident back in 1999.

I find it interesting most people who want to ban guns also are Pro-Abortion and support murdering 4,000 babies each day in the U.S. (like Daley and O’Donnell). Isn’t this a double standard?

Are most of the people you know who are Anti-Guns also vote/support Pro-Abortion Candidates? Why is this?

We need to stop blaming guns when there is a massacre. Even if guns were banned, criminals would still get them from the black market. All those who are Anti-Guns never talk about how many lives have been saved because having a gun stopped a criminal.

I would challenge anyone who is Anti-Gun to post a big sign in front of their home which says “We Don’t Own Guns” and let’s see how long it takes for a someone to rob their home.

I support the 2nd Amendment and therefore Pro-Choice on guns because “guns save lives” and I am Pro-Life!

If I’m not mistaken, the campus was a no gun zone.

Does anyone remember the Columbine High School incident? Rachael Scott stood up in front of her class and told her executers she believed in God. Then the executors murdered her for that statement.

Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee’s sub-committee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful. They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness.

Here is a portion of the transcript…

"Since the dawn of creation, there has been both good and evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher and the other eleven children, who died, must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers. "The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain’s heart.

"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA, because I don’t believe that they are responsible for my daughter’s death. Therefore, I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel’s murder, I would be their strongest opponent. "I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy - it was a spiritual event, that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem that expresses my feelings best. This was written way before I knew I would be speaking here today:

continued…

"Your laws ignore our deepest needs, your words are empty air. You’ve stripped away our heritage; you’ve outlawed simple prayer. Now gunshots fill our classrooms, and precious children die. You seek for answers everywhere, and ask the question “Why?” You regulate restrictive laws, through legislative creed. And yet you fail to understand that God is what we need! "Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, soul and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge the third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice and hatred to rush in and wreck havoc.

Spiritual influences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation’s history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? "We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine’s tragedy occurs, politicians immediately look for a scapegoat, such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties.

"We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts. Political posturing and restrictive legislation are not the answers. The young people of our nation hold the key. There is a spiritual awakening taking place that will not be squelched! We do not need more religion. We do not need more gaudy television evangelists spewing out verbal religious garbage. We do not need more million-dollar church buildings built, while people with basic needs are being ignored.

We do need a change of heart, and a humble acknowledgment that this nation was founded on the principle of simple trust in God! "As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America, and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School, prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him.

To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA, I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter’s death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"

PLEASE, do what the media did not. Let the nation hear this man’s speech

Seems to me that the media’s saying this is the worst “shooting massacre” in US history. While I oppose abortion (and support gun control) it seems to me that this is a time to hug our kids, pray for God to preserve them and pray for the grieving.

The lack of respect for life in our society stems not form legalized abortion but from generalized godlessness. Abortion, terrible as it is, is just a symptom of that. Rather than going on about abortion when something like this happens we need to sound out the call to turn to God.

PLAL I agree with you and feel that something more is needed.
Does anyone notice that this thing is escalating, it was high school now it is at the college level. These aren’t children anymore, mad because someone was picking on them. At our work we have a system that says that if we are having a bad vibe about a worker we call a yellow alert if there are any threats we call a red alert to the mangaement, no blase over this no ‘whitewashing.’

Even on a national level he may have been paid, we need more investigative done , this is like a predator thing or suicide bombing with guns. It is very sad. 😦

Continue to pray for your each individual state and those of your relatives as our prayers need to be more direct. dessert

I think that what the news and other media meant was that it was the worst massacre at a school in U.S. history, but then again I don’t know if that is correct or not.

While I support gun control
seekerz,

People cause violence, guns don’t cause violence on there own. Supporting gun control just takes away guns from those who abide by the law and gives guns to the criminals.

If guns were outlawed, those who abide by the law would have nothing to protect themselves and their families. The criminals would still get guns through the black market. Thus we would have a free-for-all for the criminals on law abiding citizens.

If those who support gun control are really anti-guns, then I would challenge them to rid their homes from guns and place a large sign in front of your home stating “We Don’t Have Guns” and leave the sign there permanantly.

Believe me, within a short period of time you will find out what the 2nd Amendment was all about — “Protecting Ourselves and Our Families”.

If some of those people on the campus had guns, most of those 32 students wouldn’t be dead today.

On the other hand, remember to pray that God have mercy on the soul of the killer and for his family.

AngelRose81,

You are probably right about this. 33 people were murdered in the VT Massacre and its getting 24-hour coverage on every news channel/station…

yet the U.S. continues to murder 4,000 of its own babies every day of the year since 1973 and I don’t see any media coverage of this story anywhere for the last 34 years!

What’s the worst that could happen if I got shot? I hope to live forever remember? Same goes for my kids, much as I love them.

You’re welcome to your opinion (and I mean this with all respect) but there’s nothing I possess on this earth including my life, that’s worth shooting someone else over.

I’m not sure I understood your post or who it was to. Are you saying if you were armed and witnessed this shooting you wouldn’t shoot the murderer to keep him from killing more people?

I’m just trying to understand.

There is a huge difference between those shootings and abortion, its like comparing apples and oranges. Fetuses are fetuses, not babies…pretending they are such doesn’t mean they are, its like calling a caterpillar a butterfly. It might be one someday but at the present its not. The senseless, random murder of college kids like that is much different than destroying an embryo or a fetus.

I know you won’t agree but thats my secular take on the whole situation and being a college kid myself it especially irks me to read that this is nothing compared to the legal, healthcare practice known as abortion.

I could not carry a gun or shoot anyone, I would probably shoot the wrong person.

But there is a point, I believe there are more people carrying than you know. So why do they make mace illegal? Dessert

Sorry, I was responding to PLAL’s post above (about guns in the home)but failed to quote it. Here it is:

I don’t envisage a situation as you put forward because I would not carry a firearm unless my job required it.

Nichjake,

Please, don’t make us explain 2nd Grade Biology all over again. If so, please start your own thread.
