Having a personal relationship with God and embracing His gift of nature and the beauty of life is something I miss. Since I started making my way along the Catholic path, I find that my religion becomes more about following rules and a stringent belief system.

.
How can you have a more personal realtionship with God than holdng his physical body in you hands and obeying his command to eat his body and drink his blood?

Wrong. There are multiple beliefs but they cannot all be true.

Being firm in one’s own faith is not mocking.

You are SO right on this. Demons reject the light of God, and if they are like mirrors, they reflect the light and appear to be like God. The New Age movement appears to be spiritual, but most of it is searching within the inner self to find peace. Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, but the Christian seeks peace by praying to God who is external to us in order for the Holy Spirit to dwell in us.

It’s dangerous to seek God in an internal self.

Wow. If your child’s soul was at risk, would you protect it by setting it free. I guess it’s no concern if there are multiple truths.
There are multiple versions of God. But in the end they are just different versions of the same God. Most religions want peace and have the same moral code. That is how they are connected and there are multiple truths.
Exaclty…our bodies our the temples of the Holy Spirit within us. When we search within ourselves, we find God. In nature, we find God. IN meditation, we find God. God is everywhere. So searching inside ourselves helps us learn about us and God. So why, following this logic, is it bad to search internally?

No one can own another’s soul, so I don’t know how her daughter’s, and mine for that matter, souls are at risk. You still haven’t given me an answer. God is not external. He is everywhere, inside and out. That’s in the Bible.

As long as you are filled with the love of God, demons can’t touch you. And they are never present in vision quests, as you go into hgiher planes of being when you partake on this journey.

Would you mind elaborating on how this is dangerous.

Not here for a debate, just wanting to understand better.
Those who seek God in their inner self risk falling into Gnostcism. We have the Church founded by Jesus Christ to guide us. I often say i do not look to the Scripture or the Church to learn the Truth-that has been clearly laid out for me. I read Scripture and am close to the Church to better understand the Truth

In this thread alone, I can see “New Age” idea already. 😃
Imagine what Vision Quest might do to your kids.

And you base this on what?

Not saying that following the Catholic faith is the reason why I feel spirtually dead, but I do think something like a vision quest could serve to fill a need while enriching my experience as a Catholic.
That is exactly why I follow many belief systems. If you feel that your spiritual needs are fuffilled by being Catholic and meditating in a Buddhist style, then you should do it. If you need a vision quest to help you find God, then do it. The end result will always be that you will be closer to God. Maybe you should explore some Native American systems as well as maintaining you CAtholicism? I felt spiritually dead when I was just CAtholic, but things got so much better when I opened the doors to everything else good. You should do the same:)

There is only one Truth. If her children want to seek God they chould go to mass. He is physically present there, they can eat his body and drnk his blood,
God is everywhere. Again, many people don’t find the relationship with God they need in mass. Vision quests and nature can be much mroe spiritual.

Yes, they could be much more spiritual and actually find joy ingoing to church in the end. Go for it! And again, why is searching internally satanistic?

I think it has to do with my personality. I’ve always been an independent sort of person who cherishes individual time alone with God in a natural outdoors setting. I haven’t been able to duplicate that feeling at mass. Not to say that receiving communion is not a blessed event, it just doesn’t move me the same way. That’s the best I can explain it. 🤷

In the Bible, it says that God is spiritually present, not physically. We may have a physical relationship with God, but that is the weakest sort. We must have a relationship with God on the spiritual levels as well, just like marriage.

I knonw exactly what you mean. Again, a phsyical relationship is of the weakest sort. Vision quests, meditation, and nature gives us the spiritual relationship we need.

God can be found in us, but God exists everywhere in a spiritual sense. Satan can dwell within us too. By seeking God externally to the self, you therefore continually invite God in. This can be done through prayer, meditation, and reflection, but the focus should always be outside of us, not inside of us.

Take communion for example. The bread is transformed into his body. We can’t see it, but it’s his body. The act of going up and receiving it and therefore eating it may *appear *routine. But the external act reflects actions that are going on within our souls and God. It looks as if we are taking in bread and whine. When the reality is our souls are taking in Christ himself. The transformed bread then transforms us…that is, if we believe.

Now, I am not saying that nature is bad or that you shouldn’t pray outdoors, but are much better off if we say to God: “Come on in!!!” rather than searching in our souls and saying “Where are you?”

You contradicted yourself. God is everywhere, yet we must only search externally for him?

There is little differnce between the truth of a Buddhist and that of a Christian. They both want love and strive to have communion with the divine. Native Americans also have great respect for nature and only want peace. Vision quests will only further connect you to the divine.
Chrisianity is based on the beleif that Jesus is the Son of God and died for our sins. It is not compatible in any way shape or form with either Buddism or Wiccan. it would appear that you really dont understand any of the three and have instead invented three religions for yourself and attached the names Christian, Buddhism and Wiccan to them. Your posts ooze a confused mixture of new age pablam and gnosticism.
What really matters is the intent. Most religions want love, and in the end it is all from the same source. That is how I successfully combine my beliefs. Everything is connected.
You sucessfully combine your “beliefs” by ignoring what the beliefs of three “religions” are. As far as intent how do we sort out good intemtions frm bad?
I wish your daughters well on this quest! May they find further closeness to God in the process.
Hopefull they wont end up as spirtitually confused as you are.

You certainly don’t have to if you feel uncomfortable with it. Still havent answered my question, though. WHy is searching internally satanistic?
I am not searching internally satanistic if that’s what you are asking.

The Only True God is my light.

I held him in my hands this morning. You, OTH, have to first figure out which version of God you want to be close to today.
