If, hypothetically, I was called to be a Deacon an Eastern Catholic Church, would I need to change Rites? Or could I somehow be both? What’s the age requirement? Just curious
One doesn’t “change rites.” A rite is simply a Christian community’s spiritual, theological, liturgical, and cultural patrimony. What one can do is switch to a different autonomous Catholic church, of which there are twenty-three. Think of it as becoming subject to a different bishop, in a distinct hierarchy. If, hypothetically, I was called to be a Deacon an Eastern Catholic Church, would I need to change Rites?
