Again, I asked you to prove to me where the Church opposes the work done at the hospital as you suggested.
I am not sure where this thread went off track, The original discussion was with regard to could/should one aid in the mission of Shriner’s hospital not should one become a Mason.

If the Masons/shriners ran all the hospitals in the US, then yes, one could. however, there are plenty of ther ways to help out in hospitals not run by rampantly anti catholic organizations.

The Masons/Shriner’s are not evil. Try to understand, the Shriner’s hospital is renowned for the excellent care it provides to those that can not afford it. Nothing evil about it.
Yes, Masons are evil. They’re totally opposed to the Catholic Church and have for centuries sought it’s destruction. The Catholic Church is Christ’s Pilgrim Church on Earth and steward of God’s people. When someone wants to destroy that Church, it’s the very definition of evil.
There is a Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in our community. Please tell me how rendering FREE medical care to children is “destroying” the Church. Also, our bishop has appointed a priest chaplain who visits patients at the Shriners Hospital. Is he, therefore, cooperating with “evil?”

Let’s go back to the original post. No the Shriner’s are not evil in the context of the work they do to support the hospital.
However you may perceive them they do in this case provide a valuable service.

the KKK donated to the VOA…does that make them not evil in the context of the donations they made?

Heck, I spent many years as a patient of a Shriner’s Hospital. My parents are not Catholic, so, the whole Masonic thing was not a deal killer for them.

Not donating money is one thing, but not offering care for the sick is another matter. To me this is contrary to the corporal works of mercy.

It is also a good way to plant the seeds of evangelization.

They do great work and I don’t think anyone with a conscience would say otherwise. I used to tell people “The Salvation Army is a Fortune 500 company” which it is. We volunteer for the good that is done outside of the corporate and political scopes.

Believe me, Shriners have a lot to do with destruction of families and other relationships. They are used to do so just as much as any other masonic sub-institution.

I don’t care to associate with them; I don’t want them as my neighbors; and I don’t want them passing in front of my house in a pack of motorscooters like they have been doing yearly for the past two years.

Our Catholic hospitals could be palaces of healing if people would donate and volunteer more with them!

Nah. Let them pay their employees less. I’m not going to work for them.

I think volunteering your time is different than giving $.
Shriner’s seems like a good candidate for either though.

I’m afraid I heard that as well. I don’t know if it is true or not.

I never said offering treatment for sick children was evil. Don’t be silly. Would you say that Planned Parenthood isn’t evil for killing millions of babies because it also offers people breast exams and colonoscopies?

It’s one thing to for a priest to spiritually minister to souls (especially sick children) in his diocese. It’s another thing entirely for a lay person to freely choose to financially support an organization which is owned, funded by and named after a demonic cult which exists to oppose the Catholic Church.

I personally would never donate time or money to anything related to something Church has condemned. Masonry is incompatible with Catholicism.
