I’m guessing a good many of you have seen this youtube.com/watch?v=St9kZqWxNfU
I’d be interested to hear your opinions on it.

Agreed. But, Catholics should once again engage the public square and not hide.It took me about 10 seconds to realize that this was going to be a pitch for Catholic monarchy. The US is actually the state that has gone the longest without substantial change to it’s form. I think we should actually focus on converting the nation and properly catechizing it. Personally I think Subsidarity is best.
Then we could simply have an Americanized/modernized version of Golden LibertyThat video was quite stunning - I am still not certain if he was serious or if he was joking.
We live in a pluralistic society. The most important role of government is to protect individual rights.
What does that mean? What does it look like? Then we could simply have an Americanized/modernized version of Golden Liberty
You have no idea what Golden Liberty is?What does that mean? What does it look like?
Are you saying that a Catholic State somehow does not protect individual rights? That video was quite stunning - I am still not certain if he was serious or if he was joking.

Ok, followed your link, read it and still not impressed. In fact, I’m not impressed at all. According to your link:You have no idea what Golden Liberty is?
Again, what does this mean? What would it look like? In other words: what would it look like here in the US? What? The Catholics are the nobles and everyone else are the serfs? Or maybe the Bishops are the nobles and everyone else are the serfs? What would this look like? What would it mean for the US Civilian?Under that system, all nobles (szlachta) who held immediate estates were equal and enjoyed extensive rights and privileges. The nobility controlled the legislature (Sejm — the Polish Parliament) and the Commonwealth’s elected king…Perhaps the closest parallels to Poland’s ‘Noble Democracy’ can be found outside Europe altogether ― in America ― among the slave-owning aristocracy of The South, where slave-owning democrats and founding fathers of the USA such as Thomas Jefferson or George Washington had many values in common with the reformist noblemen of the Commonwealth.[11]
Others however criticize the Golden Liberty, pointing out it was limited only to the nobility, excluding peasants or townsfolk[12] and gave no legal system to grant freedom and liberty to the majority of the population, failing them by failing to protect them from the excesses of the nobility, resulting in the slow development of cities and the second serfdom among the peasants.[13]
Yup, agreed. That’s what our founding fathers thought as wellI said that the most important role of government is the protection of individual rights.
Establishing a relationship with Christ is an individual and voluntary act. The government does not have a role in this.
The government can help protect and support the Faith though, not be completely separated from the Church.Yup, agreed. That’s what our founding fathers thought as well![]()
I would think people of all faiths would expect this, and equal representation, of the government hereThe government can help protect and support the Faith though, not be completely separated from the Church.
Only in America.I would think people of all faiths would expect this, and equal representation, of the government here![]()
