I am not catholic, I’m LDS. I don’t understand how a church which proclaims that abortion is murder, can give what they call eucharist to one who advocates abortion, has voted to pass laws to strengthen the ability for a mother to abort (murder) her unborn child, and does not repent of those sins. The pastor of this particular church should be disciplined to allow this travesty to exist. And those that wonder why catholic church attendance has decreased, it is because of the hypocritical Leadership of this church.

If I had been there, I would have walked out when everyone else stood up. But four years ago, I was wearing a “Vote Catholic, not Kerry button.”

This is why growing numbers are leaving Catholicism. I did. It was over the priest scandal, but this is just another reason why serious searchesr are finding the Catholic church wanting.

A friend watched the Catholics Come Home video, which is artistically superb, but laughed at the end. The story presented in that “ad” is not the real Catholic church. She too has left the Catholic church for a more coherent and actually lived out faith.

And the buck does not stop with the priest in this case or his bishop. If abortion is murder and if one is to accept what paul says in Scripture about receiving communion in an un-rightteous state, why does not Rome stop it? Where is the shephard?

I’ve heard enough excuses - so too have many it seems.

That’s funny…you have heard enough excuses…but seems you have as many to give as well.

Tell me…can you receive the Body and Blood of Christ in your new church?

Are you expected to go to Confession and fulfill all the Sacraments Christ himself gave to us?

What is asked of you by this easy new church…other than to “love” Christ?

Nor at all. I believe in God as much as ever. I just realized that the Catholic church is not the full witness or expression of God.

One has to die to self to come to that realization and indeed freedom. Things like this are leading many away to a more fuller faith, and I have to think that is all in God’s plan.

I have moved past Christianity so your questions are sort of irrelevant.

The point is not just Catholics abandoning their faith - Christians in general are. In America and Europe. God is working something here and I surely do not claim to know what, but change is coming that supercedes going from Catholic to LDS to evangelical or mainline.

It is much bigger than all that - IMO and experience.

This is not true at all…ONLY the Catholic Church has been given the authority through Jesus Christ to provide the Sacraments as we know them…He, Himself instituted the Holy Eucharist and ONLY a Catholic priest can consecrate the host.

The Catholic Church is the full witness…the Bride of Christ…you are incorrect here, sorry.

Actually, you are wrong…the Catholic Church is bigger today than ever with more turning to Christ and following His true teachings then ever in history.

No. I am not sure about “formal” religion. If I were to embrace a formal religion, yes, it would be Islam.

BTW, it is not just the UK. Islam is fastest growing throughout Europe. In Asia and Africa. In America second to non-bleieivers in being fastest growing.

Spain is returning to its Islamic roots and Spanish Muslims are serving as missionaries in Central America especially.

The message of Islam is clear, not diluted. Rome allows, for financial reasons IMO, the “apostasy” to go on in Europe and America.

But that only works so long and in fact this is why I see benedict’s unilateral “cave-in” to SPPX as more a move of desperation than anything else.

According to a report posted on the CA forums from Remnant, if the SPPX reconciles then one third of French priests will be tradionalist. That tells you how bad the situation is in France -cause there ain’t a thousand SPPX ptriests in France. Like what is the total worldwide - multiple hundreds?.
