To answer OPs question, what one should say, if anything, depends on to whom one is speaking and the situation. But prayer on another’s behalf is never wasted.

What to do when someone your with uses vulgar words? I don’t mean direct insults to you, rather they speak offensively in general?
There is a good chance either they don’t realize it, or they are trying to ‘get your goat’.

Perhaps politely ask them to tone it down in your presence and explain that it bothers you, just the way you were raised.

Wonderful photo and text. I had a lady like that. I knew what to do, say and how to behave in general. We were both on the same page because we were raised with the same standards.

Leave it to you to bring American politics into this discussion.

I think it has it’s place in the world. People overly concerned with this kind of thing tend not to be deep thinkers. I love the show South Park and honestly think it’s an extremely positive show for religion. It starts by going out of it’s way to be vulgar and that scares off all the simple minded folk so that the rest of the people still watching can have a deeper dialogue. In that sense, vulgarity is a nice filter because there’s nothing more frustrating than making a big effort to express a complex idea and then have some lowest common denominator moron start picking over the words, as opposed to the meaning.
Are you seriously arguing that South Park presents some sort of deep philosophical lessons in each episode?

😅😰

“Kyles mom is a big fat b****”… Oh yeah man, so deep.
There’s a lot of wisdom her story as an over-protective parent who ends up making things worse with good intentions. There are a lot of Kyles moms on CAF.
WHEEZE HAHAHA you guys are the best. I’m going to watch south park now for the first time in years. Thank you @stupidisasstupiddoes

Despite cursing Lil Pump is very wise.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Lil Pump. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics, most of the lyrics will go over a typical listener’s head. There’s also Lil Pump’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these lyrics, to realize that they’re not just catchy- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Lil Pump truly are idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Lil Pump’s existencial catchphrase “ESKITIT”, which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Lil Pump’s musical genius unfolds itself. What fools… how I pity them. And yes by the way, I do have a Lil Pump tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only - And even they have to demonstrate that they’re within five IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Link to Lil Pump’s hit “Gucci Gang”

The last sentence in your post. You mentioned 5 points lower then your IQ number. What is your number? Lol!! You did copypaste about L’il Pump’s Gucci Gang! My friend, read everything beforehand and know what you copypasted…you may get a silly question, like mine! 😉

Currently taking an IQ test online. I never knew we had fellow memers here on CAF

Ahhhhh. And I do have a liking for Pintrest. And some of the memes it contains. 😁

I agree parents blaming others for bad parenting is complex. More complex than just projecting our own faults on others? Maybe. This example seems only to present the issue not the complexity. The problem I see with vulgarity used in this medium is it is attractive to children.

Watch “all about Mormons” - season 7, episode 12 and tell me that’s not a balanced view of mormons! Yes it has vulgarity. I’m sure Jesus saw a bit of vulgarity in his time seeing how he associated with the low lifes and not the perfect ones in the temple.

One thing i never get called by people who know me is simple minded. I got a post flagged for calling out someone who implied i don’t have a good job (i do). There are things i would like to say to call you out on which of us has the simplier mind, but i shall refrain.

Good point well made, those who think all use of vulgarity is because of a simple mind or lack of creativity are putting forward the arguement that the entire genre of rap music is devoid of creativity. A position that is patently false if, like me, you are down like a clown charlie brown.

Sigh…religious don’t use vulgar offensive speech and I doubt any would bother about South Park .Maybe it’s good to think why.
God bless.
