What she felt sad about was ambiguous, so it would be best to figure out what she meant exactly without jumping to conclusions beforehand. It is most likely though, that she was referring to

part of the comment.

Yes. I feel sad whenever I hear of people who live their lives in fear. It is probably one of the saddest things, for me. It is sadder than someone getting sick and facing death, or losing a loved one, or total devastation or loss. Living in fear is hell on earth. I don’t think, if there is a God, that it is the way He wants us to live.

This isn’t to say there aren’t things in this world that we should avoid. We should strive to be our best, of course. For many reasons.

Fear is a powerful motivator. For some it may be the most powerful. I want my children to be afraid of a hot stove, a busy road, a stranger offering candy. That doesn’t mean they live in a constant state of panic because they know the dangerous outcomes posed by these things. In fact, it likely means they live in a happier state because they avoid things that can harm them. Based on God’s word, the Church teaches what’s harmful. And it also offers the means to repent of actions involving harmful things. That’s glorious! Not sad.

Sad to me when adults are motivated by fear, rather than other options I believe are healthier.

Instead, if the prayer converts my own heart to a more forgiving and merciful Christian, then this is the holiness called for by Jesus.
That statement is written in the book by Fr. John de Marchi, I.M.C. entitled The True Story of Fatima: A complete account of the Fatima Apparitions. Imprimatur 1947 by Bishop James E. Cassidy. It states that it is “A true story as it happened. It is taken directly from Lucia’s Memoirs and checked by her in person.”

Most souls go to hell for the lust of the flesh- our lady of fatima
And to tie in with that Our Lady also said the final battle will be the attack on marriage and the family and it sure looks like we are there with the liberal left’s support for the killing of the unborn, redefining marriage and gender ideology.

That really depends on the mental strength of the individual.

Not sure what you meant to respond to me, Vico. You quoted me in a response to Jim.

Regardless of what Lucia said and believed, it remains a private revelation, and Catholics are not obliged to believe, consider or even know the contents of the private revelations of saints.

If prayer for the sake of those who are lost sheep converts our own hearts to be more forgiving and merciful, this conversion is indeed a holiness called for by Jesus Christ.

It depends on what u think sins of the flesh are.
If you are a worker in the sex industries. That’s 1 y thing. But everyone has a normal sex drive which in not a sin. And scaring children with sex or hell imagines is not from Jesus.

I don’t know where you got this, but I read through the documents of Fatima last night and could not find where the Blessed Mother told Jucinta or Lucia that many souls go to hell because of sins of the flesh.

She did say the Blessed Mother said there are souls in hell and purgatory suffering because there is no one to offer prayers and penances for them.

This doesn’t make sense from what we learned from the other approved apparitions.

I have a problem with Fatima, especially where it was Lucia who told Francesco what the Blessed Mother said, because he could see her, but couldn’t hear her.

Also, things that Lucia wrote in her memoirs decades later, she never mentioned at the time of her interviews about the apparitions.

Fatima is still personal revelation and not necessary for Catholics to believe.

Thank you, not it was a mis-reply to you. I agree with you about these private revelations having no obligation.

Well I question the accuracy of Fr John De Marchi’s book

The testimony given by the three visionaries, never state that the Blessed Mother told them this.

Are you saying that the testimony is not in your source matching the book of Fr John Marchi on p. 70 of the pdf: the testimony about what St. Jacinta Marto said? The book states:
Father de Marchi spent hours and days researching for this book on location. He spoke at length to many witnesses including Ti Marto, the father of Jacinta and Francisco, as well as with Maria Carreira, one of the most important witnesses who first came to the Cova da Iria for the apparition of June 13, 1917. Most of the witnesses he interviewed are now dead.
What is your source?

BTW, it’s possible that Lucia wrote in her memoirs that Jucinta had told her this. But in the three children’s testimony to the investigating priest, they never stated that the Blessed Mother said this.

It’s one of the problems I have with Fatima, is that Lucia added things decades later in her memoirs.

Hell is NOT a good place to go, as Dante’s INFERNO
relates, “abandon all Hope, who enter here” is written
above the gates of Hell. What I actually want the readers
of my post to understand is that FEAR of Hell should be
coupled w/ LOVE for others!! “there is no fear in Love, but
Love drives out fear…” 1 Jn 4:18
