Actually those who oppose outsourcing are denigrating the suffering of those in third world countries because they aren’t Americans.Apparently only Americans deserve jobs and "just"wages? Perhaps if they were paid in condoms everybody would be happy.
This is a new low for you.

Has anyone thought to ask walmart if they are doing this ‘donation bins’ thing for the store employees, Are they also setting up donation bins in their corporate offices, for those employees as well? If their goal is for employees to help other employees, no reason to think donation bins should not be in the corporate offices as well…right?

I see. You just read the reply and not the original post.
You said that the Church does not teach that one should provide for some at the expense of others.

I was just pointing out that that is the very definition of public assistance. The logical conclusion you can draw from the above statement is that the Church is against welfare, seeing as welfare is providing for some at the expense of others.

Except that my post was not separable from the prior post from which I was discussing employers, not the government.

When you jump in the middle of a conversation, you tend to miss details like that. 🤷

Governments have powers that individuals do not.

If we create jobs for Chinese, that is good. If we create jobs for Americans that is good too. One is not better than the other.
True, in the eyes of the Church. But for patriots, there is a difference. If an American outsources his products to China, thus employing Chinese workers, I would encourage that man to relocate to China, since that is mostly where the economic benefit is occurring.

Race nationalism is wrong, but I see nothing immoral about economic nationalism.

I wonder what impact could be had if the government would buy only US made products. How much money is spent by the government on consumer electronics where almost every component of it is made outside the US? I think this is not only an economical issue, but also a national security issue.

If an American outsources production to China, Americans must benefit as well, because otherwise they won’t buy his products. Consumers will benefit from lower prices. So who is more important, consumers or workers? It all goes back to David Ricardo and the law of comparative advantage.

So you would have it that other countries don’t buy our Goods? Or does economic nationalism only work one way?

Right. The management and corporate folks should be asked to help as well.
