Why do people or teens or whomever is responsible for this descration believe they have a right to express their opinion in this horrible way!

Let the Lord lead them to understand what is in their dark soul to allow them to even consider let alone act in this manner.

May they pay restitution for its restoration as well.

It is southern California. It is very sad, but what else can you expect? The news media keeps drumming into people how evil Christianity is.

This, of course, is disturbingly sad.
What is it that people, particularly youngsters, label a “gay” anyone or anything they don’t like, don’t understand, or with which they disagree?

This is so sad. It also makes me quite angry. However, we must pray for such people.

:crying: Oh my God. This is absolutely horrible. How can people go down so low to this point? It’s a real shame! Oh Lord, forgive us for those offenses!

Disturbing, but not surprising. Sorry folks but this is the world we live in. The world hates Jesus, His Mother, and all His followers. I’m afraid the future holds more of this - and worse.

That’s true! The future is very dark to the Catholics… It was “The Da Vinci Code”, now it’s this… But we have to hope that the Church will survive to everything!

This is just so, so sad. 😦 :crying:

Why would anybody ever want to do this to an image of the Lord? This must be, at least in part, the work of the Devil. I will pray for those who are responsible for this terrible crime. :gopray:

I live in the San Diego area. I was very upset and disturbed when this happened. But, I would like to boost your expectation Southern California. I want to tell you that there are still many practicing Catholics in the area…including the man responsible for the forums we are using. In fact, my Church is growing so exponentially that we have to spend several million dollars expanding. There are lots of good things happening here, I promise.

This was a disgusting event to be sure. I just want to make sure everyone knows there is a LOT of good work happening in the area too. Of course, none of that gets any press…

I’m kind of late to jump into this thread, but in the words of Jesus; “You are Peter, and upon this rock I shall build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

It is very difficult to see all the hatred and filth that is thrown at Our Lord and His church, but we have to trust Jesus on His promise…and pray!

Why would a region (and country, for that matter) whose entertainment industry promotes vipers who go by the name of Madonna and hang themselves from a mock crucifix expect anything else from its’ young? Really, it isn’t a very big leap at all.

Um, I don’t think whoever did it had actual personal agenda against Christianity. I would think it was just some bored teenager who was trying to get some reaction and make some people upset. Judging from the comments on this thread, it seems that the aforementioned teenager had succeed.

I also agree with the person above me. Christianity has been ridiculed to death and Jesus has been parodied for far too long. This is not good news, but there is no reason to get overly upset over something (typical) like this.
