I would like to say that yes, almost every religion has a double standard and catholicism is the same way. I am catholic, have been since the day I was born, and yes there are double standards. I read all the ology series some of you despise, like the wizardology book. None of it is real, it is a childerens book. For the record, how can chrisianity be the true religion if it wasn’t even the first religion. The first belief was of multiple gods, and christianity grew from that, the belief in Hades and being able to travel to his domain through caves is what led to the belief of Hell. I’ve read up on almost every religion, past and present. Paganism was nearly destroyed forever because of someone pushing their beliefs on another. Simply that. Nothing more. Christians loath people who try to push anything other than what they believe, and so does everyone who is pushed to believe something they do not wish.

even if the “spells” are not real, they can still get children interested in the occult. The intent is important here. If someone says a fake spell believing it is real, aren’t they still going against the First Commandment?

Actually no. You’d look pretty stupid yes but unless you willfully go as far as to renounce your faith and sincerely declare that you now worship a pagan god, it’s not a violation of the First Commandment.

It’s still a violation of human logic though to believe a fictional spell is ‘real’.

Ahh! This book is evil! It has Wizard in the name! It must have magic. /sarcasm.😉

This topic must really grab people’s attention. It’s been revived twice! 😃

You can find evil in anything, if you are looking to find it.

I have read this book, and there is absolutely nothing of any danger to a child in it, IF parents are doing their jobs. They should be sitting down with their children, and going over anything that their children are reading. Explaining where something deviates from our religious beliefs, etc.

But, realistically, most parents do not do their jobs. They don’t have a clue about what their children read, see on the computer, have in their schools, who their friends are, what their kids are actually doing, etc.

The real answer is NOT whether a particular book is, or is not harmful. The REAL QUESTION is, why are parents not doing what they are responsible for doing?
