AND JESUS REPEATS:

Mark 13:22-23

For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect—if that were possible. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.

GET ON YOUR KNEES AND REPENT, LITTLE CARLIE! FOR CHRIST WARNED US ABOUT YOU!

(The crowd cries out as Carlie looks like he just might comply!)

:crying:

Just as I thought … Evangelical Ed is gumming him to death. Keep focus Carl … Keep focus.

… my Sammie is gettin’ warm! Any one bring Nachos - sprinkle mine with some papal encyclicals.

Matthew 24:24-25

For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time.

(The crowd cries out in dismay as the Protestant Powerhouse lands his first, earth-shaking blow!)
Punch deflected, bad verse for the intended purpose… Go Carl…

Hey Soc! After the fight I’ll have to give ya a great book on some of the best fights of the past couple decades. It’s called Journey’s Home by Marcus Grodi. My fight’s in there among many others. Great coffee table book.

Don’t know about that, Mon. Eddie’s bite is as bad as his bark! Let’s hope he doesn’t pull a Mike Tyson on Carl.

Watch out for your ear, Carl!

No, Christ isn’t speaking of the Catholic Church. She’s not deceived. Her moral authority proves it!

Actually, this refers to the coming of Christ of which He vowed the Church would not fall but be guided by the Holy Spirit until His return. This refers to the coming of false prophets and being cautious of those who claim to come in His name. Jesus will be as obvious as lightening from the east being seen in the west.

Notice the previous verses;
4 4 Jesus said to them in reply, "See that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and they will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars 5 and reports of wars; see that you are not alarmed, for these things must happen, but it will not yet be the end. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be famines and earthquakes from place to place. 8 6 All these are the beginning of the labor pains. 9 7 Then they will hand you over to persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of my name. 10 And then many will be led into sin; they will betray and hate one another. 11 Many false prophets will arise and deceive many; 12 and because of the increase of evildoing, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a witness to all nations, 8 and then the end will come.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God …

Let’s see, Carlie:

Lovers of themselves
Proud
Abusive
Ungrateful
Unholy
Without Love
Without Self-Control
Brutal
Treacherous
Lovers of Pleasure

You know what that sounds like to me?

You can’t say it, can you? Then i’ll say it for you:

It sounds like

Pedophile!

Sure, it sounds like people sin. What has it got to do with the entire Catholic church apostacizing? Where does it say the church will fail? Instead, Jesus said it would withstand the gates of hell and that he would be with the church unitl the end of the age.

Put that in your moral authority and stuff it up your two faces, hypocrite!

Furthermore, it is a warning against heretics, who think they know more about Salvation than the Church Christ founded to spread the faith to the ends of the Earth. Those that think that Faith alone is a substitute for love in the economy of salvation.

Acts Ch20; 28 “Take heed to yourselves, and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 29 I know that, after my departure, ravening wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30And of your own selves shall arise men speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”

***Is there some surprise that corruption could enter an institution inhabited by man? I think we have been fore warned of such things. Even though Jesus made His vow on behalf of His Church. You do accept all scripture, correct? ***

Actually, you are describing humanity regardless of faith, but wouldn’t you say it is self destructive to judge the mass of members for the few?

In the following, Paul speaks to the Church Body, and what is the message;

Ephesians CH6; 10 Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power. 11 Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens. 13 Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground. 14 So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, 15 and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all (the) flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones.

*It doesn’t advise us to bail out because the Church is going to sink or go start another belief system, it again tells all to stand in perseverance against the tactics of satan. *

You cannot scripturally support a position that the church will fail at any time against the declaration of Jesus even due to corrupt men as these things were forewarned, nor can you justify the establishment of an independent system of beliefs that follows teachings in opposition to the teachings supported through the lineage of the Catholic Faith.

BING!

Sorry all, I couldn’t resist offering my two cents.
