Better yet to choose the higher ground of living a more sanctified life in the Lord rather than on such musings…and extend a genuine enlightment of God and goodness to others around us…

I should add because I am sensing it won’t be for long that those who work to destroy the world and all the good in it are going to have their own come uppance…Psalm 37…

I would not be surprised if in heaven God reveals to us that most heresy and false philosophies are inspired by Satan rather than just concupiscence. Humans are not totally evil, but a push is all it takes to make us do much evil. If spirit can manipulate matter, our brain is matter, our brains determine feelings, and devils are spirits, we would not be able to know where our inspirations come from. All we can do is resist these temptations with truth or give into them.

Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, prisoner in Communist Romania, friend of Archbishop Sheen, started the speculation that Karl Marx was not just an atheist but a Satanist. Any comments?
I’d say that was a common theory amongst persecuted Christians in communist countries. Pastor Richard Wurmbrand was to become well known in the West, but I doubt if he “started it”.

I remember my old protestant pastor, who was a conservative to his boot laces, once commenting to me, “I sometimes wonder if Communism wasn’t God’s idea, but the devil got hold of it first. “From every man according to ability; to every man according to need”. It was given through a Jew, and it’s got an almost Biblical ring about it. But you’d never get the churches to accept it now!”

It surprised me to hear him say it, but I found he was usually right about most things, including prophetic predictions about some future events.

So what was at core meant to be an egalitarian sharing of resources turned into a brutal, mass murdering atheistic system under Stalin in particular, who then set the standard for Mao, Pol Pot etc.

Let’s put it this way - the idea of a society sharing it’s goods either came from God or the devil. I don’t think it came from the devil, but since he knew it was coming, he got his placemen into position first.

I could make a similar argument about the Reformation. God wanted His church cleaned up - badly. And the devil knew that too - but he managed to divide it and keep it divided.

It’s not God’s will that the church remain divided. That’s the will of men and the devil.

It’s not God’s will that the rich lead lives of staggering prosperity, while thousands die of starvation everyday. That’s the will of men and the devil.

I beg to differ with Richard Wurmbrand on this one.

Marx was an irreligious materialist who considered religion to be the opiate of the masses, to use the famous phrase that he (or Engels) coined.

I read an article about the freemason links to Marxism. As I have learned that freemasonary is steeped in the occult.

The Church of Jerusalem shared everything in common and were of one heart and one mind, but had to disband, and even flee because of the destruction of Jerusalem and that of the Temple by the Roman Empire.

History showed that living in commune does not work well, does not last…

As happened in the Soviet Union, etc…everybody it is said had some food…but I remember the long lines, the stories of corruption, the Nomenklature…spelling…the rich bureaucrats who lived lavishly in that time behind closed doors.

Russia and China are now working together to remove America as the major world power. They don’t have much of a history in respecting human life. And the atrocities committed under the secular understanding of communitarianism also were hidden from their own peoples.

Jharek, so the Soviet people had enough to eat? But then, it might not have been such a worry as so many millions were liquidated by the state.

I have a Serbian Bosnian friend living here in USA…and told me during Tito nobody starved.
