Someone on the WhyIslam forum posted this verse and others from the Quran claiming Muhammad was a sinner. Here is my reply to him, I am copying pasting it:
A study of the context shows that the word error or fault in these verses is not talking about sins. It is speaking about the shortcomings and weaknesses. What Allah means to say in surah 48 is this “If you had continued on your struggle with weaknesses, it would have taken you much longer to subdue Arabia, but We have overlooked all those weaknesses and shortcomings only through Our grace, and opened for you at Hudabiya the door to victory, which you could have not achieved on your own.” The surah was revealed at the treaty of Hudaibiya. You have to look at things in their context when interpreting the Quran.
47:19 is speaking about Jihad and again Allah is asking the Prophet peace be upon him to seek forgiveness for his “fault” in order to show us that even the best of mankind should not be boastful about his efforts and that he should admit that all good is from God and not from our effort.
Muslims try to fool us by playing with words and now Allah asking Muhammad to ask for forgiveness for what Emad called “fault” if fault do not need forgiveness so why allah asking him for it ? the word fault is something you do by error and error is not a sin Mr Emad now we will show that Muhammad even he fabricated law as we see** in the book of The Deception of Allah:**
if we ask Muslims is making a law for mankind which is not from god is sin or a fault ? like Muslims claim that the bible is the fabricated law of God and who ever do this he will go to hell,then as long Muslims agree with that let us see this verse in the quran where Muhammad fabricated a law against Allah teaching ( سورة التحريم , At-Tahrim, Chapter #66, Verse #1) 1 O Prophet! Why bannest thou that which Allah hath made lawful for thee, seeking to please thy wives? And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
remember what ever muhammad ban is a law for his god said in other verse in Qur’an ( سورة الحشر , Al-Hashr, Chapter #59, Verse #7)" And whatsoever the messenger giveth you, take it. And whatsoever he forbiddeth, abstain (from it). And keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is stern in reprisal"
so Muhammad is god on earth and he made a false law and the fact this law he made when his wives found him having sex with one of his slaves and they threaten him so he ban him self from doing it ever again but later he couldn’t not stop thinking of having that slave in his bed so he made up a new verse as if its from god so he can sleep with her again.

{ يٰأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَآ أَحَلَّ ٱللَّهُ لَكَ تَبْتَغِي مَرْضَاتَ أَزْوَاجِكَ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ }
O Prophet! Why do you prohibit what God has made lawful for you, in terms of your Coptic handmaiden Māriya — when he lay with her in the house of Hafsa, who had been away, but who upon returning [and finding out] became upset by the fact that this had taken place in her own house and on her own bed — by saying, ‘She is unlawful for me!’, seeking, by making her unlawful [for you], to please your wives? And God is Forgiving, Merciful, having forgiven you this prohibition.
