I personally definitely believe that Muhammad was deceived by Satan. After all, Satan can appear as an angel of light in order to deceive people:
And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
(2 Corinthians 11:14 RSV)
Indeed, the Bible warns that men such as Muhammad would come along:
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.
(2 Timothy 4:3-4 RSV)
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit. A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits.
(Matthew 7:15-20 RSV)
As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” And Jesus answered them, "Take heed that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places: all this is but the beginning of the birth-pangs. "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation, and put you to death; and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away, and betray one another, and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because wickedness is multiplied, most men’s love will grow cold. But he who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come.
(Matthew 24:3-14 RSV)
False Christs and false prophets will arise and show signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect.
(Mark 13:22 RSV)
Indeed, Muhammad denied that Jesus is our Lord and Master.
For admission has been secretly gained by some who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly persons who pervert the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
(Jude 1:4 RSV)
That said, I am wondering if there are any verses that state that no more prophets will come or that no more public revelation will be issued after the time of Jesus? I am wondering this because many Muslims claim that the Bible foretells yet another prophet which they believe to be Muhammad who was of course, a false prophet.
