i think i learned that in fourth grade. so why do protestants dismiss it when it comes to faith…

I can see the liturgy of most Proteetant communion services as well.

Well, I’ve never been to a “communion service”, but my mil & fil’s Southern Baptist service is NOTHING like that. I’ve been to my sil & bil’s Vinyard Christian Fellowship twice, and once they did do communion, but they just tacked in on at the end of service, which consisted of a lot of praise and worship ccm (Vinyards are big on that, they have their own record label), a sermon, some prayers, and a collection. I’m not even sure if the pastor prayed first, I can’t remember, people just went up and got the wine (to their credit, at least they use real wine) and crackers and came back to their seats (they don’t use pews) and ate and drank.

So, maybe “mainline” Protestant services look like mass, but Evangelical and Fundamentalist services sure don’t. The irony is, they’re the ones who usually insist they have the most “authentic, New Testatment” Christianity, and consider liturgical churches (Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox) “spiritually dead”. Ugh! Just drives me nuts! :banghead: But then I like to point out that
Alex Jones, a nondenominational pentacostal/charismatic pastor, starting doing research so his church could have a real “new testatment” worship experience. He, his family, and quite a few members of his church…(drumroll please )…became Catholic

I always find it interesting that those who seek truth, seek history, and seek true spirituality with an open heart always end up becoming Catholic in the end…

Oh, I agree with your first sentence. There were definitely no flashy power point presentations in the early Church.

btw, do you mind clarifying what you mean by “modern day Bible churches”?
