Was The story of Noah real?

Yes, a number of ark replicas have been built and proven seaworthy. The CIA has a photo labeled “Ararat anomaly.” How and when it was taken is unknown. I take it that their photo interpretation is good. The government of Turkey has prohibited expeditions, citing security concerns.

It’s simply impossible.
Surely you must know you cannot prove a negative.

The North American continent is mostly sedimentary. In addition, the study of paleocurrents give strong evidence for global runoff patterns. Satellite photos show many of these runoff scars.

On forums, when a person makes definitive claims such as:
There is overwhelming scientific evidence for a worldwide flood that occurred.
It is good forum etiquette to be able to back it up with the data. When you cannot, it is best to say “In my opinion, I was convinced” than to claim data that you cannot cite.

“mainstream” science, you are leaving science behind entirely.
Recently they discovered an under- the -earth ocean that is at least twice as big as all the oceans of the world. I don’t have any reference for that. You have to do the research.

Look up the Grand canyon and the flood. The hydrodynamics and erosion are clearly evidence of formation within days not thousands of years.

Apologies. I’m new to this forum. I’m just so excited to communicate with people about God.

The Grand Canyon is a dome and higher than the surrounding area. Rivers would have simply went around the high spot. It gives support for flood waters being higher than the height of the dome.

Augustine had some wise words in his commentary on Genesis for these debates:
“In matters that are obscure and far beyond our vision, even in such as we may find treated in Holy Scripture, different interpretations are sometimes possible without prejudice to the faith we have received. In such a case, we should not rush in headlong and so firmly take our stand on one side that, if further progress in the search of truth justly undermines this position, we too fall with it. That would be to battle not for the teaching of Holy Scripture but for our own, wishing its teaching to conform to ours, whereas we ought to wish ours to conform to that of Sacred Scripture.”

I did state that the research is outside mainstream science. That is equivalent to stating that it is my opinion. In my Opinion.

Bound up in mantle rock means it’s been there very millions, if not billions of years. It is not evidence for a flood, and I doubt even that volume water would be enough to cover Mount Everest. But it’s fascinating to see how vast areas of geology are rejected to support the Flood, except when it seems convenient to suddenly accept geology.

Exactly. I see this research but I usually put it together in my mind. I’m not writing things down.

Sigh. No, the grand canyon is not evidence of a global deluge:

It’s formation is well understood.

During the Japan earthquake water was gushing up from the ground. That is what the bible says. The water spouted up from the earth.
“In yet another confirmation of the Bible’s accuracy, scientists have now confirmed what Scripture refers to as “the fountains of the deep.” In the days of Noah and the Ark, these large pools of water beneath the Earth’s crust burst forth onto the surface providing the massive amounts of water needed for the global flood judgment. What has once been a source of skepticism and mockery for those who doubt the Bible, has now been confirmed by secular scientists, again showing that although written over 3,000 years ago, the Bible’s description of the Earth and its natural properties are indeed accurate.”

Still not enough to cover the highest mountains.

The flood didn’t happen.

Except for the problem that there is still not enough water. The amount of water available would have to be at least 250 times greater than all the known water on Earth. Unless you suppose that all those high mountains grew after the Flood, picking parts of geology you will accept and rejecting what you won’t is nothing more than cherry picking.

You have to do more research. There is evidence of cavitation in the grand canyon based on water that was rushing at great speed. The speeds have been calculated.
As far as the water amount. The earth shrunk temporarily. It was a very mysterious event. They also found mammoth bones that were crushed by falling ice from these fountains mentioned in the bible. They say the ice fell from the upper atmosphere and struck the mammoths and broke their bones from above. The mammoths were not near any cliffs or mountains. The research is eclectic and diverse. You cannot present all of it here in this forum.
