I stated a sin in confession and the Priest asked me “was this on one occasion” In a quick reaction I said “yeah” only to quickly realize that it may have been committed more than once- Father started talking and I said (under his voice) “im sorry several times” But I dont think he heard me because he continued talking as though I said nothing. Anyways as he talked it completely slipped my mind.
The reason this troubles me so much is that the sin was of offensive thoughts, that 1: is hard pin weather I really dwelled on them to make them a sin, and 2: is hard to tell how many times I really did.
I know that this sin is mortal.
I am a fighting Catholic and I go to confession quite often (sometimes several times a week) and its kind of humiliating but I offer it up and I want to be in Gods army but I fall often.
If I were to receive no advice I would believe my sin is forgiven.
