Hello,
This week I have visited my grandma, and she started gossiping a distant family member, I knew that kind of conversation was wrong so I tried to defend a person she was talking about, but it didn’t help, it even made it worse, so I just didn’t said anything until she stopped. It took her a while, it was a rather long monologue 😦
I didn’t want to say to her that this kind of behaviour is wrong because i thought it would be disrespectfool.
did I committed a sin, if i did was it mortal?

Unless you wanted to hear the gossip then no, you didn’t engage in it with her. You tried to defend the person. Your age will tell you your culpability in admonishing your grandma about her sin of gossiping. The younger you are the less responsibility you have in this matter. Maybe next time ask her why she feels so negative about this person, and tell her you don’t want to hear the gossip. Ask how she would feel if someone was speaking about her behind her back.

Thank you for your answer to my question, it was very helpful.

No your grand mother is in grave danger of hell fire.gossip in the bible is rated just as bad as murder.here is the verse.romans25:23 and since they do not see fit to acknoledge god,god gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not be done.they were filled with a all manner of unrighteousness.they are gossips, slanders, haters,of god.insolent, haughty, boastfull, inventors of evil, foolish, faithless, heartless, rude.thogh they know god.s righteous decree that those that practice such things deserve to die.and no u did not sin.u must co must correct your grandma

Those are all non bibical answers.use verses out of the bible to prove that this women should die as is said in this one verse.
