You’re playing into their hands . the problem you have a gay teacher whom you need to deal with right away before he corrupts the minds of the kids . his very presence gives the kids ideas. . do that first . .don’t turn a pea into a mountain . that’s what they wantin order to drive wedges between you . it’s a set up so as to call you intolerant . its discrimination and you’re nosy sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong when you should mind your own business. It is rigged to make gay teacher look the victim and you the tyrant .

character assassination. I’m an old guy lived in sin taking high moral ground. The other side will throw any and all darts he can muster at you without any qualms . inquisition this and inquisition that . theocracy this and that .turn it around . This is material you can use to promote the catholic church . use what they throw at you to show the many blessings they are enjoying now came form the catholic church and not secularism
Catholicism is the farthest thing from theocracy . separation of state and church is built in . Render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to god what belongs to god . that means do not render to Caesar what does not belong to him .

check 1st and 2nd century church. Religion is personal issue and there . check St Aquinas writing…the State has no business regulating vice unless under certain conditions. You can use his writing to formulate a powerful argument against homosexuality . he calls for consent in marriage based on voluntary and non voluntary tying it up by implication to self determination… exceedingly important point .

Christendom differed from other civilizations. Separation of State and Church fact on ground . there was a Pope but there were also Kings . it offered a healthy detachment for Christians from the church and vice versa. You have a problem with the Pope you took up residence with a king who didn’t get along well with the Pope at the time . and vice versa. You went and took refuge with the Pope when the King was out to get you . other empires sent cronies of the ruler to rule the various territories. They were foreigners not from the local population.

Be proud for being catholic . many of those so called human rights trumpeted by the secularists as theirs are catholic . What the secularist did is claim them as their own and then twist them to suit their purpose .hit the books and learn about your catholic history and heritage .

the atheists/leftists/ secularist /commies killed in the Bolshevik revolution more people than the first and second war world combined . that is the inquisition for you. You have no idea what these secularists hiding behind so called human rights are capable of . bring out their dirty laundry for others to see .bring out the materialist filth into the open.
Use this. The Muslims butchered people for 1400 years . the Buddhist …check the killing fields. The Hindus first rate butcherers . Understand those charges of inquisitions and crusades leveled against Christians are used to kill Christians world wide right now , right as we speak. this is very dirty game hiding behnd it all kind of murder and mayhem aganist christians

you’re up against one of the most dangerous evil of the times. Its called moral relativism. It is the I think its right because I think so morality or to put it more accurately lack thereof. It is I think your morality is bad because I think so . I think so and so morality is good because I think so. .beyond that I have nothing to say about it.

How they got that into the mental psyche of people you’ll have to go back a long time ago to the romantic movement . they used animals believe it or not . they used people love for animals . it culminated in the American constitution. . it’s a cat and dogs and horses lovers based constitution in a way . don’t get me wrong I think the US constitution is the work of genius . and of course I’m not qualified to make that judgment. Few people are.
.
okay there is your angle my beloved Catholics . go to them… hey secularist come here I want to ask you a question . how come you back that gay teacher and you do not let the bestiality guy teach at public schools .this is discrimination. just because poor guy is having sex with animals you refuse to let him hold a teaching post, why do you discriminate against him ? People should mind their own business you say. People should do what they like in privacy of their home. . Having sex with the cat at home has no relation with being a good teacher.

secularists , what objections do you have against bestiality other than I think not and I think so ? all your arguments in favor of homosexuality equally favor bestiality .this is what homosexulaity leads to . soon you will be calling for same sex marriage across the species .

When good gives up, evil thrives. When evil gives up, good thrives. Please don’t give up.

I haven’t had the exact same experience, but its easy to get faith fatigue sometimes. I’ve realized in my own life how important it is to have a strong and supportive environment and friend network. I’ve had to reassess who I let influence me and be pickier in Facebook friends. This isn’t to shut the world out or adopt a fortress mentality (which would be bad), but to practice discernment in who you let influence you. For example, shutting others out just because they aren’t Catholic or don’t share your views is bad; shutting out those who are particularly evangelistic about their differences or display an arrogant, self-righteous attitude toward others is part of maintaining sanity. Bottom line, it’s important to have a predominately supportive friend circle in order to remain with faith(or with anything). Choose your friends wisely.

Well, as far as I’m concerned, being a teacher doesn’t have anything to do with being ‘chaste’. Catholic school or not, I don’t believe in discrimination or firing someone for their non-criminal life outside of work.
It’s not your call to make. Catholic teachers have a greater responsibility to their students than merely to stay out of jail. They don’t just teach specific subjects; they teach with their example. This is the very reason that even non-Cathlic parents so often want their children to go to Catholic schools - so that their children will not be exposed to negative lifestyles.
I don’t know what you mean by this.
“Heather Has Two Mommies” ringing any bells?

There is a definite homosexual agenda in some schools.

My understanding is that religious schools can fire their teachers for openly living lives in direct conflict with the teaching of that religion because they’re considered a part of the teaching arm of that religion.

It’s really the simplest concept in the world.

As for the OP–i get feeling that way, too. Sometimes I think the Amish have the right idea lol. Facebook is a really poor place to try to evangelize. When I first got my account, there were so many people on it, then, for whatever reason (jobs and real lives maybe?) the conservative Christians pretty much left and stopped being active posters).

Not to digress to much,I got off of FB in 2012 ,before O’s second term.Relatives that are way off the charts liberal, were really making it difficult to remain civil,so I left.👍

The Gay Mafia believes the exact same thing.
How is name-calling helpful? This is one of those things that further divides of us. And saying, “Well they do it too!” is not only uncharitable but childish.

Nothing will get accomplished while there is this lack of civility on both sides. 😦

As Catholic Christians we should always remember that there is always hope in Christ on this earth…

And as one very wise Monsignor told me recently when I expressed concern about various difficulties, we should pray for those who concern us. †

There’re no perfect solutions for problems. Ideally you should be able to go to this guy and tell him. You’re homosexual .you can’t keep this job . But look we have talked to our friends and some of them are employers . they’ve agreed to hire you . the pay is the same and maybe better . The work is different but is not anymore or less tasking . it’s not going to be a catholic school teaching job. He agrees and everyone goes about their life . something like that .

I used to be in business for myself at one point in my life. I hired ex cons, recovering addicts , homosexuals , you name it , they worked for me . never denied anyone work so long as they were able to contain and fight off their particular vices . almost all of them had some story to tell , something that made them who they were . one was a cop whose wife and only son died in a car accident . he went on drug binge for some 20 years before he came around . he became a good friend of mine . he passed away. Another one his mother died . her only son. Devastated him. I never fired anyone . when the stole too much from me , made them read the bible at gun point . repent and stop working for Satan I shouted . lost one . he was the best of the best .worked hard made and saved his money went to church . did all the right things . he ran into this girl another recovering drug addict .he fell in love with her . she got back into drugs and dragged him with her . less than three month he was dead. .He wanted what I have , a wife and kids . they all wanted a family to come home to.

a parish priest , an old man , good friend of mine , gathered all the perfectionist from among the congregation , mostly young folks, and started yelling at them that he needed business minded people, he needed people who know about this and who know about that and who can do this and do that . the priest had serious projects to complete and the money always too short . He passed away not too long ago. Great loss to the community . he got things done . the younger priests’ are not like him. You have to be patient with them .

Conquer the world , get whipped and in fit of desperation wash my hand from it . that’s how I used to be when I was young . Back then I liked to do things on cosmic scales . like that story by what’s his name I forget . coal carrying ship . coal ignites at the bottom , smoke coming out . the crew get ready to abandon ship except for one . he gets a bucket of water and broom and goes down to extinguish the fire . He was of course young. Such is youth. None of the other sailors tried to stop him. . it was youth.

“intra church business” just doesn’t lend it self easily to conquering the universe . it’s a problem when you’re young . when you’re older it is not . you understand that there are no solutions out there . you solve a problem , it comes back sometimes worse than before or another one takes its place . thye never end , never stop. never a break. you learn to like it . when you’re older you get worried if there’re no problems . something must be wrong. How come there are no problems ? what am I doing wrong? when you’re old you get really scared when people like you and give you a pat on the shoulder . That’s when you know you’re doing something wrong . That’s when piety comes in handy . Piety is what brings you back . piety protects you from what is out there . change can happen to anyone of us .piety prepares you for that change . when it does piety is your strength. what the nuns and the priests have on us is their piety . piety is what makes them shine more than us . do not be so quick to dismiss it .

Pope Francis invented the term, and it fits. This is not “name calling” but an apt description of who is trying to hurt us. That is exactly what civility entails. Now, let’s see how the other side behaves. They don’t describe us in any way close to the way we really are.

I think what divides us is the group of “gay mafia” that goes around trying to shut down freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of opinion. If anyone dares to have an opinion contrary to theirs, they seek to hurt them. They seek to destroy, bully, intimidate, and basically commit all kinds of evil.

I think that’s disgusting, and horrible. But you attack me instead. It is clear where your approval lies.

The first rule of dialogue is to know who you can and cannot dialogue with.

Now, let me contrast the “gay mafia” with the ordinary homosexuals out there. By far the gay mafia does not represent who they are, because they don’t act like this. Most of them area “live and let live” which goes contrary to what these groups stand for.

As a result, one can talk, dialogue and actually have conversations with the ordinary homosexuals out there. But can’t do that with the Gay Mafia. They seek to hurt.

The answer is prayer.

Unless you are immersing yourself in interior prayer each day, you will burn out. Prayer is the source of renewal, strength, zeal and love. Talk to God. Tell him about your frustrations with this culture, ask Him to bless your friends and acquaintances, offer reparation for the evil you see around you.
This. Imagine how Jesus must have felt- he frequently left to go out and pray alone, because he needed that source of renewal and strength to complete his mission.

At times when I feel overwhelmed I do take a complete break from the internet. People have become increasingly intolerant and unkind (on all sides) and I do find that it really brings me down.

But we are called to be that light and not to hide the light under a bushel. If nothing else, perhaps the example you give of how you live your own life will guide another person to Christ.

And consider the story about the starfish- a girl was on a beach tossing starfish into the water as the tide receded. A man comes along and sees the hundreds of starfish laying on the beach and mocks her for her efforts, and says she can’t possibly make a difference. She picks up a starfish, tosses it into ocean, and says, “It made a difference for that one.” You may not be able to save the world…but you might be able to guide one soul to Christ. And for that person, you made the most important difference in their life.

You’re right, the term was “gay lobby” so I stand corrected.

I was about to ask. Pope Francis did talk about the Mafia and called out their behavior as sinful. That was probably the source of confusion.

Can you imagine the media crucifixion he would have received if the Pope had used those words?

They’ll bury it. They buried so many of his pro-Catholic-truth words.

They must paint him as a Marxist, that narrative serves them better.
