Total disgrace and shame on notre dame, I am so sick I can’t even watch the students march in now at 1236cst. Any Catholic that voted for this supporter of murder needs to go to confession quick.

I hope to God nd never wins a damn football game again.

it is very infuriating-i just saw a speech where the speaker (a senior) spoke of Our Lady and did the sign of the Cross-all from a podium with the POS seal on it all ready for Obama

for shame ND!

i wouldnt watch obama defile that school this afternoon if you put a gun to my head.

Angry is just tooo mild a word for how I and my family feel about this.

I am listening to commentary about the situation on FOX now. I really don’t think I can watch it anymore. I will just turn off and go back out and week my garden. At least I will accomplish something! I too am sad beyond belief here. I am disappointed in ND, and I am disappointed so many Catholics think along the lines of our pro-abort President.

I honestly hope that you all just saw the introduction given for President Obama. Albeit long, I think that it might give some insight into the invitation given to him.

I’m forcing myself to listen to Obama’s speech. The audience support for Obama is enthusiastic though a single heckler had to be removed at the beginning while the students broke into a chant to shout him down. A few times Obama had to pause while the students broke out into applause. One time was when he mentioned stem cell research. Another was when he talked about his position on abortion.

I’m not sure what those kids are learning over there at Notre Dame, but for darn sure it isn’t a passion for Catholic moral teaching or an understanding of the value of every human life starting from conception.

Daddums 🙂

Singing the praised of the promises of BHO? I want to know who the man is that is sitting just to the left of BHO on the stage. BHO’s right and side. He never even moved when everyone was clapping and smiling. I must give that man credit because I sure would not have been able to sit through thisIMHO “sick joke”.

God have mercy on us all.

What is the world coming to when Catholic institutions can’t even stand up for the most fundamental human right, the right to life?

What is is coming to when Catholic student applaud it?

:mad::(:banghead::dts:

This is one of those days where you want to primal scream a Hail Mary

I could not have watched he students clapping when he talked about stem cell research or abortion. I don’t think I could bear it. What a shame on that University to do this.

Can you summarize? I missed it.

That intro was exactly what disgusted and disappointed me the most. Obama said what I expected him to say. Fr. Jenkins, on the other hand, just totally sold out.

I wanted to know about him too. He never even had an expression on his face and never applauded. Very curious.

Apparently it’s all the fault of those of us without good will who won’t sit and try to find common ground with those with whom we disagree.

I believe that common ground holds the bodies of millions of dead infants?

We aren’t supposed to demonize those whose opinions differ from ours. That many people believe sincerely in their own point of view.

I suppose Hitler felt strongly about his point of view. Should we have sat down with him and tried to find common ground when it came to his disagreement that Jews deserved the right to life, liberty and freedom? How about on the subject of slavery?

Read the speech. Sounds like I’m glad I did; if I’d seen Catholic students applauding those lines about mass murder for “research” or, “hey, let’s have a ‘dialogue’ and ‘common ground’ about killing children,” I would have been sick.

The President, as always, spoke cleverly. It’s hard to remember, at times, that this man opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion and that he enthusiatically supports the annihilation of all “common ground” on the abortion issue via FOCA.

I guess it’s time to leave the ND mess to the bishops and turn back to fighting his SCOTUS nominee.

Joseph Bottum of First Things had a very nice article about this called “At The Gates of Notre Dame.”

I watched the proceedings from the beginning to just past Obama’s address to the Graduates.

It is my personal opinion that Father Jenkins must be removed from his position at Notre Dame and if he doesn’t then I can see another split within the Catholic Church just like what the SSPX did.

Kmeic. I’d like him to go gently into the night. He tried to say on Fox that Obama was not a supporter of late term abortion. Good on Michael Steele for not letting him get away with it. Then the former Roman Catholic went on to sing the praises of Obama merely undoing those pesky things Bush had put in about conscious clauses that had “so many medical professionals” concerned…

For a guy I used to admire, I can only now wonder which of Dante’s circles he’ll wind up in.

I began to watch the goings-on at ND and then decided to go to my parish’s prayer service that was being held at the same time. We prayed for the country, the unborn, and for life. There was Benediction. Much better than staying home fuming and raising my blood pressure.
