I’m a video game nut so I also saw Doom a week or so ago. I went in knowing it was going to be pretty bad, and I still ended up leaving disappointed.
Now that is a bad movie.

Open Water—TERRIBLE!!!

House of the Flying Daggers—I just didn’t get it!

It should have been called THE MATRIX REGURGITATED. This Matrix series is just so hokey. I don’t know what is worse, Keanu Reaves stilted acting (and walking around dressed like a Monsignor,) the bad computer animation in the fight scenes, or the hodge podge mix of Eastern mysticism with Judeo/Christian language in the diaglogue. Please no more Matrix movies!
I agree with that. I thought the first matrix was great, but the next two just got worse and worse. I’m glad the series is done.

I walk out of movies that bad. Walked out of Pulp Fiction, and Apocolypse Now. Don’t go to movies very often because I hate to waste the money, just wait for it to show up on satellite. Most of the movies DH watches on TV are terrible, I leave the room after the first few dead bodies, explosions or gratuitious sexual encounters (that is, within the first 5 minutes).

*Dune, *but not by my choice. Fortunately, the person I was watching it with also thought it was horrible and asked me to turn it off. ****

Butterfly Effect is the worse movie I’ve ever seen. Total garbage. This homage to bad taste actually shows a baby committing suicide in his mother’s womb. No wonder the secular critics loved it. Do yourself a favor and avoid it at all costs.

Ashton Kutcher is just not a good actor in my opinion.

Didn’t see this movie, but since reviewer James Bowman and I seem to share the same brain, I can safely thumbs-down Jarhead.

Sideways! left the room and cleaned the kitchen, did a load of laundry and came back and it was still bad. no redeeming person in the bunch.

I watched Kingdom of Heaven this weekend…very historically innacurate, not to mention the Christian leaders were portrayed as bloodthirsty while the muslims were wise. Also, I’m not a big fan of the lead character (the guy who played the elf in lord of the rings)…he just isn’t a strong enough actor to take on lead roles.
Personally, I liked the movie. Sure it may have been somewhat historically inaccurate, but this is a work of historical fiction. As far as the bloodthirsty Christian “leaders” go, some really were bloodthirsty, such as Renaud de Châtillon who waged war against the Muslims against the wishes of King Baldwin IV. The “wise” muslims were at least unified under one leader, and the city was in fact allowed to peacefully surrender after a long siege.

The bad movie I saw was “Doom”. After the second platoon member gets killed by monsters because “Sarge” split up the unit, you’d think he would stop splitting up the unit. Nope, that would be smart and apparently military personell in the future just don’t have the common sense God gave to a rodeo clown.

The most unbelievable part of Kingdome of Heaven was Orlando Bloom’s character.

I kept thinking, so let me get this right. An illegitimate child who grew into a blacksmith becomes an expert sword fighter after a one minute fighting lesson. He also happens to be an expert in agriculture, diplomacy, and military tactics.

I agree. It is a strong “R” but a very good movie.

I just watched “Raise Your Voice” over the weekend and it was terrible. I don’t know what I was thinking when I rented it. Even by “teen movie” standards this was painfully cheesy.

Bewitched…what a lousy movie.
I agree! Hollywood really needs originality fast! What next? (Oh and be warned: Mr. Ed the movie is in development! :bigyikes: )

decides to speak up
The entire Matrix trilogy was amazing. I loved all three films.
The second and third films should be taken together as a whole.
The ending to the third film was excellent…ties in well with Catholic teachings on redemption.
And I also agree that there should be no Matrix films, either before or after. The story is over.
quietly sits back down

I liked the Matrix series as a whole. They need to be taken together. Yeah, there are some bad CGI moments, especially Neo vs. 1000 Agent Smiths in the second one, but the story and themes explored through the series are truly thought provoking.

I perosnally enjoy B movies and get a kick out of bad movies, but the absolute worst movie I have ever seen without a doubt is Fist of the North Star. It’s a post-apocalyptic martial arts fantasy film with absolutely no redeeming qualities. Bad script, manniquinesque acting, special effects that make the old Dr. Who series look good…

It doesn’t even qualify as so-bad-it’s-funny. Truly awful.
