I was wondering if the water used for “ablution” of the wine MUST be holy water. I have assumed for years it could be plain old tap water.
It’s plain tap water. The priest doesn’t wash his hands with holy water and it’s from the same cruet as that used in the wine. Don’t think ‘ablution’ is the word you’re looking for.I was wondering if the water used for “ablution” of the wine MUST be holy water. I have assumed for years it could be plain old tap water.
We use tap water all the time. It must be a local thing then. Most parishes I know use plain tap water.thanks,
I was told today by someone that I shouldn’t have used tap water…I thought I was right but one must be open to learning new things. I have actually used tap waterr for years.
