noone was ever threatened with death for leaving Catholicism or murdered(unlike Islam, that is).
Or don’t you know how many Muslims were murdered for leaving Islam or converting to another religion?

One wonders whether that is culture or doctrine.

If it is culture, then you cannot blame it on the religion itself.

If it is doctrine, we are instructed to kill many people in the OT particularly. So?

Also, Catholics are threated with death. Just the spiritual kind.

@Bev17243: The British Council of Ex-Muslims would disagree it’s not possible to leave Islam.

I think you’re confusing stopping practicing a religion’s practices with what’s happening in the soul. I’ve seen it argued on Christian sites that even those who leave Christianity and practice other religions are still Christian in their soul by baptism.

“If they turn back from Islam, becoming renegades, seize them and kill them wherever you find them.”

Narrated Ikrima: Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.” (Bukhari 9:45; 84.2.57

I would love for you to explain it away. Can you?
P.S. the only reason that any Muslim is alive and kicking after leaving Islam, if they:1)leave their country, 2)go into hiding, or 3)if they live in the West

the argument about OT is pretty old-you do know what Jesus teaches, right? That old laws of the OT no longer apply. I sure would love for you to produce just one case of a Christian who was murdered for leaving Christianity. Good luck with that search

Well, as a Catholic I am not obligated to kill an apostate Catholic for starters.
