Some people can’t see the forest for the trees…I hear ya Roy…that county by county map you posted clearly shows that he is accountable to the people, and they showed their approval of him by his overwhelming victory over Kerry. Some people just refuse to face the facts.

It took Bush 1 1/2 years to **** me off. It took John Kerry 36 hours. That’s got to be an impressive record.

I voted for President Bush.

I just finished listening to his state of the union address. It was an excellent speech, I agreed with almost everything he said, President Bush is a holy, God fearing man. Where I disagree with him is his treatment of illegal aliens. I don’t believe we can ever be secure until our borders are controlled. Illegal means by the very fact of entering our country they broke the law, how can we expect them to follow any of our laws? How easy would it be for a terrorist to just walk across the border.

remember what Jesus said and I paraphrase: If you hear of wars and rumours of wars the time is not yet.

So not even the rumour of a war will exist when it is the time.

Sin has to reach a head before Christ can come. What that means is that Satan’s deception has to reach it’s most sublime and successfull manifestation in history. What is Satan’s deception? He comes as an angel of light. When evil is called good. What do we do when we feel anxieties that reality presents? We distort reality so that we feel peace. This is at the core of Satan’s offering of peace.

I’ve been searching the web to see if there are any updates on the Pope’s health and I could not believe all of the horrible things that people are saying about him – calling for his death, accusing him of all sorts of evils, making horrible sexual comments, etc. This was not the way things were in previous generations. Even if people disagreed with someone, they did not slander them the way that they do now. Not only the Pope but comments about our president. Society in general has become more & more evil.

I find it hard to believe that Sodom and Gomor’rah were worse than our society today especially when you factor in all of the lives lost through abortion which is a sin which cries out to heaven.

I just can’t see how our society can continue much longer on this path without something happening.

We have been living in the final days for the last 2000 years.

As for the today’s Sodom and Gomorrah, history tends to repeat itself. The Roman Empire fell due to a similar type of debauchery that is occuring today.

Will today’s society suffer this same fate? Only time will tell.

It it the final day’s. Noone knows.

Something has happened. Something is happening. Something will happen. Or more like someone. That is God. Don’t worry about the end times. Keep hope and trust in God.🙂
 
This thread reminds me of the night of December 31, 1999. I was sitting on the couch and channel surfing waiting on the impending disaster. I would run across various religious channels and there would be Jack van Impe, Hal Lindsey and a few others all talking about we are living in the last days. Well, as you well know, the clock struck midnight, 2000 was here. Oh my, all the computers kept running, my money in the bank did not dissappear, the automated gas pumps still worked, the internet kept on going. There was no great appearance in the sky. Why? Because it is not time yet. Jesus said no man would know the hour. Jesus said like a thief in the night. Some of these evangelists are sitting around thinking of every reason that Jesus is coming now and they are missing the here and now. All I try to do is live every day like Jesus is coming that day. If you do that you wont have to worry when it will be because you will always be ready.
 
Well if your warlord President and his lapdog Blair decide to attack North Korea because none of the 19 muslim attackers on 9/11 were North Korean, well yes, that could be the end of this planet.

If you really want to attack muslim terrorism “by the root”, than you would have to do something about Saudi Arabia - 15 of the hijackers of those planes were Saudi’s afterall. But no no no, on the contrary, Saudi Arabia has been called “a partner in the war against terrorism” - go figure.
Do I smell oil in here? 😉

I don’t think that anyone thought that the world would end on 1/1/2000. Y2K had the potential to really mess things up for a few weeks but it wouldn’t have been the end of the world.
 
Okay, so what about the Marian apparitions to Conchita at Garabandal? I know Catholics do not have to “believe” Marian apparitions, but I thought this one was interesting. The Pope prior to Pope JPII lived 33 days, and according to this apparition, there would only be 2 popes before “End Times”, and one would live a very short time? I know I can still do some more research, but I’m guessing the Church has not affirmed or denied the truth of this apparition.

Really? Oh… I love the Jack Van Impe series. They are the evangelicals who seem more interdenominational than nondenominational, and are quite Catholic-friendly so far towards me when I watched their shows!

End times? Every day, someone dies. For them, it has been the end of time. They may or may not have expected to come to their end. But there it is, over, finitea.

Other than that? Christ said it wasn’t for Him to reveal. I got the strong impression we aren’t supposed to guess. Spending too much time worrying about the future isn’t something we’re supposed to do.

Being prepared for the future, on the other hand, is prudent. Be prepared for the possibility that you may not wake up to another tomorrow. Know and Love God and get going on it now.

I meant that The Passion of the Christ may fit to a tee your description of Satan’s ultimate deception.

There may be unjust distortions about the movie, but my view is that the movie itself is flawed at heart and reveals a very great flaw already present within our hearts. That we would even desire that a movie like this should be made reveals much about our way of thinking.
