I had a personal revelation this morning and I wanted to share it with you. While I was praying, it occured to me that saying that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ means more than the saving prayer that many Protestants say; WAY more! Faith in Jesus begins with living the Christian life as he laid out for us in the Scriptures. He said that if we love him to keep his commandments. Faith is to live and grow in the Christian life and as our faith grows, our belief in Jesus gets stronger and our love for him grows as well. Our JOY also gets bigger! What we do is all attributed to our faith so as to not brag about our works as Paul said. This is really what he meant. It actually runs right parallel to what James said “faith without works is dead”. This all means WAY much more than just merely believe in Jesus and what he did for us and then we are saved. Am I on the right track?? I would appreciate your thoughts!!
