Leading Pro-Life Advocates Welcome, Encourage New Pope Francis

Pope Francis l said this to priests a year ago
In our ecclesiastical region there are priests who don’t baptize the children of single mothers because they weren’t conceived in the sanctity of marriage. These are today’s hypocrites… Those who separate the people of God from salvation. And this poor girl who, rather than returning the child to sender, had the courage to carry it into the world, must wander from parish to parish so that it’s baptized!

At school they allowed me to have my cellphone on to have the livestream of the chimney.

Oh God! What a moment of pure happiness!

By a reason, I just felt that today might have been the day of the new election, although I thought it was going to be on Thursday/Friday!

I hope there is some clear guidance from the vatican to put the discussion more to rest, though I suspect it will be left to individual bishops to handle. Still, some clarity would be nice. Anti-Catholics, secularists, and progressives look for any wiggle room they can find.
@Benshapiro - Communion quotes weren’t the pope’s. Just part of a large document written by others that he presented.

Obama congratulates new Pope
President Obama has issued a statement on the ascension of Pope Francis I:
On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I offer our warm wishes to His Holiness Pope Francis as he ascends to the Chair of Saint Peter and begins his papacy. As a champion of the poor and the most vulnerable among us, he carries forth the message of love and compassion that has inspired the world for more than two thousand years—that in each other we see the face of God. As the first pope from the Americas, his selection also speaks to the strength and vitality of a region that is increasingly shaping our world, and alongside millions of Hispanic Americans, those of us in the United States share the joy of this historic day. Just as I appreciated our work with Pope Benedict XVI, I look forward to working with His Holiness to advance peace, security and dignity for our fellow human beings, regardless of their faith. We join with people around the world in offering our prayers for the Holy Father as he begins the sacred work of leading the Catholic Church in our modern world.
I hope you are going to advance dignity for ALL fellow human beings, unborn and born, Obama

I’m happy, as an Argentine perhaps you could tell us more about him as a fellow countryman?

The press probably wants to know if he lost his lung with being conscripted into the Hitler Youth.
While partying with Ante Pavelic, no doubt!!

That was one charge that always made me very sad. Pope Benedict’s father was arrested for his anti-Nazi stance. Pope Benedict XIV was as much a Nazi as I am a Chinese fighter pilot.

It looks like secular sites are talking about the Jesuit part…how Jesuits are not known for being orthodox…and how this selection is a step in the right direction.

I really hope that they are wrong and that this Pope is not what I think of when I think of “Jesuit”.

Biden was quoted as saying he was excited to head to Rome, as he has never been to France before. He plans on bringing his wife’s shotgun for protection.
I wonder if Biden is trying to find a Roman/English dictionary so he could talk to people over there. 🤷

The election of Pope Francis was divinely inspired, so I support his papacy 100%. I know nothing about him personally, so I’m quite anxious to see what he does as Peter’s successor. Being perfectly candid, I’m neither excited or deflated by his election. Just accepting. God has His plans for the Holy Catholic Church under Pope Francis’ leadership and I will patiently await their revelation. May God bless Pope Francis in his endeavors!

I would be happy to do so, but, in 15min i’m leaving to my parish to Mass.
This is a joyful day for us!

I am giddy by his selection of a papal name 😉
