Huge surprise to me. I was guessing it would a younger Cardinal.

No doubt a good choice!
 
I’m super psyched now. This is the cardinal I was praying for when I signed up for the Adopt a Cardinal program. It must have been all of the rosaries I’ve been praying that did it!😃
 
My fiance hoped for a younger Pope but thought it was cool it was someone from Latin America.
 
I am not a Catholic but this entire event has me happy, excited and in tears. Just watching and hearing about the man and his life is heart warming. I think the Holy Spirit proved that the Lord has the final word and not political influence or personal wants of people. Bless this man and prayers for him and a long healthy time in his role as Pope. I may be one step closer to finding my way home seeing all the love the Church has for everyone . This is very heart moving moment in time.
 
I don’t know about the name though. Our miscarried child we named Francis, and just hearing the name is painful. Selfish I know.
