Fantastic! Last conclave I was a terribly, terribly lapsed Episcopalian sitting in my car at lunch hour, listening to the radio for the announcement, and Joseph Ratzinger was my top choice. When they said “Benedict” I thought “Yesssss!” and then a few years later there I was being confirmed into the Church. I hope Francis’ example leads you even closer home as Benedict’s did for me. 🙂
 
i like the name he chose - Francis. i never would have guessed that, but i like it.
i pray he will be a good spiritual leader for our Church and he will help all of us heal from some of the scandals. may God bless him and guide him in his new role as Pope Francis.

He has also criticised gay adoption

While at the same time he reached out to homosexuals and washed the feet of those with AIDS. This is exactly the right attitude. Condemn the sin while reaching out to the sinner with love at all times.

Pope Francis is a JESUIT!!! If you have not experienced Jesuit priests, you will absolutely love him.

I was born and raised by the Jesuits, have worked in a Jesuit high school for 20 years, and I know the world will be a better place with him as out new Pope. So excited and eager for this new start.👍

Not selfish at all. Look upon the name of our new Pope as not a hurtful reminder, but a loving and burning memory of your child within the Catholic faith. :hug1:
