Wear a Scapular?

I love wearing my scapular. I’ve already gone through 3 or four scapulars and the old worn out ones are in a zip lock bag. Since I live in an apartment I can’t bury or burn them to dispose of them properly. I was wondering if there is a religous order or some other legitimate place/organisation to send them for proper disposal?

I wear a scapular and a miraculous medal. As the church cautions, I see no superstitious merit in this (i.e. they are not amulets). They are signs of dedication to a faith filled life. Our Blessed Mother gave these to Saints to aid us in our faith life. Each morning I pray before putting on the Brown Scapular and dedicate myself to renewed service to Christ and ask His mercy and Mary’s prayers.

This site (World Apostalate of Fatima) has a wonderful prayer:

My Morning Offering:

O my God in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary (here kiss your Brown scapular as a sign of your consecration – this carries a partial indulgence). I offer Thee the Precious Blood of Jesus from all the altars throughout the world, joining with it the offering of my every thought, word and action of this day.
O my Jesus, I desire today to gain every indulgence and merit I can offer them, together with myself, to Mary Immaculate – that She may best apply them to the interests of Thy Most Sacred Heart. Precious Blood of Jesus, save us! Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us ! Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
While we should not regard the Scapular or the Miraculous Medal with superstition, there are a number of miracles associated with both:
