Wearing multiple medals?

I did have a fellow parishioner tell me that medals are not jewelry and that I shouldn’t have made the necklace.
Mary told Saint Catherine Laboure that the Miraculous Medal would be especially effective if worn around the neck. What else will you do with a medal if you don’t wear it, anyway?

That’s what I’ve read too. However, around here, I’ve seen many medal “bracelets” lately. I do remember seeing my grandmother wear a medal pinned to her dress many years ago…I wish I’d ask her what saint it was; don’t remember now.

My plan is to ideally get certain medals at the “point of origin,” so to speak, such as getting a Miraculous Medal from the chapel there in Paris, an Our Lady of Lourdes medal in Lourdes, etc.

If you area able to do this then you have received a tremendous gift from the Lord…I can only imagine it for I am not worldly in my travels by any means. God Bless you for your desire to visit these holy places! 🙂

If I were you, I would buy a lot, because I suspect you will find many instances where they would make fantastic gifts !

Oddly enough, I don’t know that many Catholics, or rather, not many that would be interested in medals.

I’ve not gotten to travel much, but I hope to travel more in the future. I went to Paris last year, but was unable to get to the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal. I did get to attend Mass in a couple historic churches.
