My experience with LDS tells me this is NOT common behavior, chalk it up to youth, not religion.
 
apart from the vandalism, the ‘sacrificing’ each other on the altar is a deliberate mockery of Catholic faith in the Eucharist. That’s not just ‘boys being boys’, that’s behavior based on something they learned from someone, probably a teacher or preacher.
