"A group of Catholic Minnesotans has launched a website to collect and protest DVDs supporting a ban on gay marriage that are being distributed by the Catholic Church.

About six like-minded Catholics from various metro parishes launched the site ReturnTheDVD.org on Monday. Contending that the DVD deals with "misguided priorities,’’ they said Tuesday that they are urging people to use the website to donate to causes that aid the poor.

In DVDs that are expected to start arriving at homes of 400,000 Catholics on Wednesday, St. Paul and Minneapolis Archbishop John Nienstedt stresses the need for a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage in Minnesota."

Why not just let everyone keep the DVDs and instead of setting up and running the website, use that money and effort to aid the poor?

Win-win situation.

yep. their priority is not morals but feed the poor. what does one thing has to do with the other? how shamefull of these people using the poor to advance their agenda. this is exactly what these people are doing, just like they do when using the color of skin to gain the support from blacks to advance their gay agenda.
shame on them. this should be one more reason for us to support the dvds. when are the bishops are going to take their places and throw these people out of the Church? they doing nothing but misguiding other souls from God. why is this allowed in teh Church is beyond me.

Do you agree with this?

I don’t think the constitution should ever be amended to restrict rights. However, I am not in favor of same-sex marriage.

While I am not familiar with the MN state constitution and I have not seen the proposal, I don’t know if such a move is necessary or advisable.
