Wedding Band Inscriptions

For our 10th anniversary, I “stole” his band and had it inscribed with “I choose love.” I just wanted a little reminder for him that, no matter how deep the potholes get, we’re on this journey together and that we can keep making the choice to love each other.

Mine has the date and S to G. His has the date and G to S.

Ours both have ‘Te Amo’ on the inside. (‘I Love You’ in Spanish.)

On a side note- do any of you take your rings off? My parents do, but my ILs and GPILs don’t. (Funny thing, they saw DH take his ring off to eat and asked if that was a “Catholic thing”)

To eat, huh? That’s interesting…why does your dh take it off to eat? I do if I’m eating something messy however. lol

I take mine off to cook, sleep and wash my hands, or shower. I just get concerned of soap and stuff getting in between the setting and stone. But, this is how I misplaced my original ring, maybe I should stop doing this. lol:o

Usually the only time I take my ring off is to use hand cream. Then I usually forget to put it back on for a few days. Since it’s a plain band and I don’t wear my engagement ring it can take any abuse I heap on it.

This band is v. 2.0. About 15 years ago, arthritis started being a problem and ring sometimes became too tight. One day I took it off and left it on the end table from whence I suspect it feel into the waste basket and was sent to the dump. Luckily, the same jeweller who had sold us the originals still had some in stock and we eventually purchased a replacement. Bought a 1/2 size larger but when it came in after being to the engraver it was still too small. I had to wait for a visit to the city to have it enlarged to be able to wear it. Guess I must have been ringless for about 3 years.
 
While you’re contemplating the Sacrament you’re about to say yes to, I know of a few places you shouldn’t shop.

Why did your DH take it off to eat?

I take both of my rings off to shower, do dishes, and if I’m putting on lotion. That’s it though – they’re on the rest of the time. 🙂
 
We had a long distance relationship for a long time, so we inscribed each other’s email addresses inside. I’m sure that will be quaint in 50 years!

He takes it off to eat, do homework, type on the compy, work on the car… I think he only wears it when we go out, actually… 🤷
 
My husband lost his first one. We bought another and he lost that, too.

They were both engraved. Mine is not lost and it says - the date, Love, DH, and Prov 3: 5-6
