Sorry I didn’t see your reply earlier. I do think someone already answered your question. It is on TLC, not sure what time.THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING ABOUT THIS!!
It was perfect timing… My sister also mentioned it to me and the guy on the show was on Ellen yesterday. I was just walking by the tv and they mentioned it so I stopped. I’ve set my dvr to record it and am hopeful for the first time in a while…

I saw this on TLC also and I am going to give it a try also. I did try what was suggested and eat with your eyes closed and I got full without eating everything on my plate, which is unusual for me. I would love to lose 50 pounds. For those who want to know more I found this website:I watched the I can Make you Thin show after reading about it on here. Thank you. Just following the four golden rules…I can already tell a big difference. I am shocked by how much food I was eating just because I wasn’t eating consciously. I am also excited and hopeful. When I lost weight about 12 years ago, I did alot of the same things (not self hypnosis, but changing my self talk) and I lost 70lbs and kept it off for 10 years. I reverted to childhood eating habits when my Dad was sick and died. I haven’t been able to get my habits back to the way they were in my stress packed, hectic life. I feel very confident that God is putting me on the right track now. I want to do Light Weigh, but do not have time for a group. Has anyone had success with buying the materials and doing it solo?
**I do the Light Weigh and I love it! I have learned so much about our faith, myself and I’ve grown even closer to Christ. I cannot say enough good things about this program. **Light Weigh !!!
I don’t know if anyone has posted about this yet, but there is a fantastic program called LIGHT WEIGH that is designed to help people get to their healthy weight. The program is for both people who are overweight and for those who are struggling with eating disorders. The program takes a SPIRITUAL APPROACH. It is designed to get people to look at food in a new way. The woman who deisned this program, Suzanne Fowler, has been on EWTN’s “Life on the Rock” numerous times. So her methods are definitely legit. Here’s the website. Check it out!

I am SOOOOO happy to hear this is working for you. It is easy, although it is hard. When I follow it I do feel full sooner than when I don’t follow it. I need to be consistant. I have to eat lunch when I can and usually while I am working (I work for myself, such a horrible boss!!! LOL)I have lost 7lbs the first 12 days doing the Golden Rules from I Can Make You Thin. I haven’t weighed since then. I have been walking too. I am enthused and not hungry or deprived. Yea!
You are welcome. I weighed this morning because I ate popcorn and two reese’s cups last night during double feature family movie night (our house, not the theater). I stopped after I felt full even though I was breaking the rules by watching a movie. I have lost another 1.8lbs since last Sunday. I was hoping for another 1-2 lbs per week until my weight is gone, so I am right on track. The greatest thing is never feeling deprived or hungry. If I want something, I have it. I just make sure I am hungry and I stop when I am full. My total weight loss so far is 8.8lbs in 18 days. I am so encouraged. Yea! I have been walking and saying my rosary. I include a thank you for Paul McKenna.I am SOOOOO happy to hear this is working for you. It is easy, although it is hard. When I follow it I do feel full sooner than when I don’t follow it. You have encouraged me to get focused again!!
Thank you!
That’s great! So are you starting a group of your own then too?Yep, just ordered my LW kit through my friend in the US who just started a group![]()
Funny you mention this. I see my doctor tomorrow. I have been having what could be symptoms of underactive thyroid. I have lost hair, dry hair, dry skin, low blood pressure (usually 120/65 for me and has been running 83/66 lately) and weight gain. My mom and her twin both have thyroid problems. My Mom has been diagnosed just in the last six months, but the meds have not helped her lose weight. She also has a heart condition and cannot do alot of exercise. Is it normal for the meds to help one lose weight? I have lost 8.8lbs in 18 days using Paul McKenna’s four golden rules. If my thyroid is out of wack, I hope I find out soon. Thanks for bringing this up.I had never had a weight problem in my life, being pretty active and no sweet tooth to speak of…until the last two years. It was bizarre; I started gaining weight at a furious rate, and I hadn’t changed any of my ways. It didn’t matter how much I dieted/starved myself either.
Then lo, I found a VERY thorough doctor who ordered up a full blood workup and what do you know - my thyroid had popped its clogs. No wonder!
Turned out I was actually malnourished from my attempts to control my weight, when what I really needed was levothyroxine (Synthroid)! Since I was put on it a couple-few months ago, I’ve been losing weight at about 3 lbs/week, just sitting on my butt and eating when I feel like it (which isn’t much - I’m not a heavy eater). Soon I’ll be taking up exercising (not too hard since I’m still a little low on energy and I get the follow-up blood draw in a couple days so they can fine-tune my dosage) and may have to actually take steps to increase caloric consumption so I don’t lose too rapidly and get screwed up the other direction.
Just saying - for some here, it might be worth checking out if you’re having endocrinal trouble. I should have guessed, but it came as a total surprise even so. So, another 30 lbs or so and hopefully I’ll stabilize. Luckily I have nice low blood pressure and pulse, and only 140 cholesterol (almost incredibly low for a 40 yr old), so I should be pretty fit quite soon.
Good luck to all of us trimming down!![]()
That is great! I have been doing it also for two weeks now, but only lost 2 pounds. I can’t complain, I am losing and not gaining and not staying at the same weight. I even have my 8 year old daughter doing it for she can eat more than I do and she is leaving food on the plate and getting fuller on what a child her age should be. She hates not eating in front of the TV, but that is not going to happen any more.I have lost 7lbs the first 12 days doing the Golden Rules from I Can Make You Thin. I haven’t weighed since then. I hope that they find the problem for you. I had to have my thyroid removed several years ago. My symptoms improved quite a bit on synthroid, but still the weight would not come off. Last year we discovered that I had “female” problems that required a total hysterectomy. Even while I was sitting on my rear recuperating, I lost 20 pounds! Now, I’ve seen a couple of the “I can make you thin” shows and I lost 5 more pounds last week without adding more exercise! Whoohoo!Funny you mention this. I see my doctor tomorrow.
