Wendy's Gets First New Logo in 30 Years

Wendy’s is unveiling a new logo for the first time in almost three decades—but don’t worry, it still features the familiar redheaded girl with the freckles and pigtails.

In an interview with The Associated Press, CEO Emil Brolick said the current logo had served the company well for the past three decades, but that it was time for an update. Still, Brolick said he was encouraged by consumer feedback in testing dozens of new logo variations over the past several months.

I’m kind of curious to see what kind of revisions the focus groups rejected. :😃

The stores will also be upgraded, with natural lighting, flat screen TVs and comfy chairs in various nooks ala Panera’s The aim of the company is to position its restaurants above McDonald’s but below Panera’s. They are looking for a happy balance of price and quality.

BTW, for those who didn’t know (such as myself) the girl in the picture was modeled on the founder’s daughter who was nicknamed Wendy. When the first restaurant opened in 1969, he and his wife dressed her up in costume… including pipe cleaners in her braids to make them stick out the way they do. :o

As long as they serve Baconators,😃 I’m not sure I care about the logo.🤷

On a side note, did you know that children in America can more easily identify Ronald McDonald, than Jesus? 😦

To be fair, we have a better idea of what Ronald McD looks like, than we do of Jesus. But if you mean that Ron has higher name recognition than Jesus, then I would be worried. :eek:
 
I like their baked potatoes. Do they have wifi in their restaurants? That in my opinion is where McDonalds does well, coffee for $1 and free wifi, how can you beat that?

Oh if I could post a joke in regards to food without fear of getting banned for insulting the Eucharist…I’d do it.
 
I’m all for upgrading their logo (their old one is a bit dated) but the new one looks a little cheap to me. The font looks too much like Comic-Sans lol.

I need to go over the rules more. One is not allowed to joke about food? Really?

But why would anyone want to joke about The Eucharist? Whether one believes in The Real Presence or not, even in their minds (those who don’t believe) it is still a representation.

To clarify. I believe in The Real Presence.
 
Removing the word “hamburgers” from the sign is the significant change.

I also believe in the Real Presence and in no way was my joke meant or even intended to insult the Eucharist, but rather Fast Food.

However I’m not going to say it because I really don’t want to stir up a hornet’s nest.

Ahh, I get it. 👍
I felt certain I wasn’t reading your post correctly, one of the “disconnects” that happens via internet unfortunately. In real life we can see facial expressions, or hear where inflection is, not so in the typed word. (and those emoticoms don’t quite do the trick either)

Hornets nest seem to be everywhere, even here, 😦
