Were non-Catholics prefigured in those who left Christ in John 6?

Were the “disciples” who complained (protested?) to Christ over His teaching in John 6:60, and who left Him in John 6:66 the prefigurement of those who deny the Eucharist to this day? This possibility struck me recently, as many (not all) n-Cs are uncomfortable explaining how their church’s interpretation of John 6 originated and developed. Remember that all of those who left were considered disciples until they rejected this teaching. Is this not exactly what we face to this day?

Protestants are one of those who deny the Real Presence. It is a sad shame they can’t received the Body and Blood of the Lord. They do want us to have intimate relationship with Jesus but I rather find that just words but no actions. Compared to Catholics who can worthily received the Body and Blood of the Lord if they are in the state of grace.

We have a more imitate relationship with Jesus than Protestants. Protestants don’t have any of that. They have change the real presence of Holy Communion as symbolism and even worst, they have communion received on a monthly basis compare to weekly basis.

Of course there are those Protestants like Anglicans, and Lutherans who have weekly communion service but the majority of them have be little the last supper.

The sad thing, he actually believes that.
All based upon an incorrect understanding of John 6.

Do you know it is a sin to tell an untruth ?
It is also a sin to deny the Real Presence because Jesus said that “My flesh is real food and my blood is real true.”

Protestants don’t have anything real in their worship. There is No Real Presence. Their worships are just praise and worship… and there are no sacrifices offered. What a water down type of Christian worship.

Believe me if you live in the First Century, you would not see the type of worship you see in Evangelical Churches you see today.

The earliest description of the worship was Liturgical based on the Jewish Liturgy and had the Eucharist at the center of worship.

Yes, what I am saying is harsh because Protestants don’t have Jesus. It’s just all talk and not sacrifice. I call Protestant praise and worship the water down version of the Liturgy.

The idea that Bread and Wine is not Jesus’ Body and Blood did not came about intil the Reformation. The ancient Christian Church always held the importance of the passage of John 6. Protestants will dismiss it (well most of them because there are some of you who believe in the Real Presence).

What those Protestant Reformers in the 1515-1530 preach that it John 6:35-69 in the is just symbolic is a new doctrine. St. Paul who lived long before you Protestants show up always held the belief that at the Breaking of the Bread, we received the Body and Blood the Lord. 1 Corinthians 11:27 made this clear. The Apostolic Fathers attest to this as well, and more importantly Jesus in John told that we must eat his flesh.

Do deny the real presence of Jesus Christ is a sin because you denied the Word of God. You denied that Jesus is not to be eaten.

I think Protestants deceived themselves since they are the minority who don’t believe in the Real Presence.

Yes they are! because they deny the real presence.
Hey Manny,
Now you just gave protestants (who believe it) the right to say that catholics are the anti-christ.

How hypocritcal, people whine and scream when protestants say that catholics are the anti-christ but for catholics to do the same to protestants it is alright… it’s sad really.

I can say for certain that I am not the anti-christ. Whether you believe me is between you and God.

I find this thread insulting…

They are. You can’t pick and choice beliefs that has been handed down to us from the Apostles, whom received it from Jesus. Those who deny the truth are technically speaking the “anti-christ.” I would prefer heretic than anti-christ…

Frankly, the new Protestant members who have come here has disappointed me deeply. If you have not noticed there have been new members like Old Scholar, Pwflr, and others who come here to polterize Catholics and spread lies about the Catholic Church.

I have lost my patience and charity and I could no longer tolerant your people. They sicken me to the bone and their hearts are misguided and distorted. I have recently proclaim myself as Anti-Protestant. I don’t believe in their erroneous brand of theology which is a new doctrine invited by Martin Luther.

Until the day, your Protestant brothers stop coming here and actually try to understand and not preach lies about the Catholic Church, then perhaps I can return to my normal self.

As far as I’m concern, Protestants are the servants of the devil and are heretics.

And I prefer that you shut your big trap while talking about stuff you don’t know about.

Oh, did that sound harsh? 🤷

Calling someone the anti-christ when all they do is try to live as they believe God has commanded and love Christ more than their own lives is insulting and no way to talk to us. But then you are anti-protestant so you don’t care… 😦

I know what I’m talking about. I just lost patience with your people (Protestants).

My people… like we are different race? The Catholic Church teaches that we are brothers and sisters in Christ and you spit on that teaching by calling us the anti-christ.

For shame, whether you have lost patience or not makes no never mind to me. You have no right to say what you did. Do you know my heart or my relationship with God? Have you been privy to the things Christ has done in my life? Or any other protestant for that matter…

No. So stop acting like God put you in charge and be quiet for a while. He might just teach you a thing or two about charity and love…

Theological speaking, more like cousins than brothers and sisters because your doctrines and belief is a complete departure from ours.

Personally, I don’t know your the level of relationship you have with God. Unless you are like those newbie protestants who preach lies about the Catholic Church. I would held you accountible like them.

I’m not in charge but I’m rather angry with your people.

Your own catechism says we are brothers and sisters… Not cousins or any other such nonsense. If I respect it, being a protestant, you most certainly should also.

Then stop acting like you do. You can’t possibly know how each and every protestant’s relationship with God is and making statements like protestants being the anti-christ or that they don’t ‘have’ Christ is absurd. I take my relationship with Christ very seriously and love Him with all my heart mind and soul. For you to spit on that is offensive. But I won’t let it get to me too much. You have bigger problems because your attitude will begin to affect your own relationship with Him. And that is between you and the Almighty.
I’m not in charge but I’m rather angry with your people.
So? 🤷 How does that give you the right to act the way you do? It’s not a righteous anger by any means and you have no right to it. What has happened that has made you SO angry that you choose to be angry at the entire protestant community?

I may be a bit annoyed with you but never angry. If you ever need to talk, I am here for ya brother!!! 👍

Pray for me to be more charitable then because now I lack it.

I have a problem with Protestants who refuse to understand our belief and insist in their erroneous belief that the Catholic Churches teaches something completely different.

I’m not surprised you are annoyed. Who wouldn’t be because you are on the opposite end.

maybe there is no word for “cousins” so the term “brothers and sisters” actually means half-brother or sister or cousin or kinsmen.

just a thought.
