Were rose vestments worn in your parish this Gaudete Sunday?

Our priests and deacons used two different sets of vestments for the Masses. One was a two color set with purple/rose and the other was a two set with color rose/pink.

I also heard form FrDavid96’s congregation that he was wearing pink.😃
 
OK, I’m still new at being Catholic, this is only my 2nd Catholic Advent, so I don’t quite know all the liturgical terms for clerical wear, but our priest wore his usual Advent/Lent purple robe (is that the vestment?) with a dark pink, almost fuchsia stole (I think that’s what it’s called!?).

I wore a rose jacket, on purpose. 🙂

Our pastor commented that he looked in all 3 parishes for the ‘rose’ vestments, but couldn’t find them. Instead, he wore white with a big patterned stripe down the middle of various shades of pink and baby blue. I think it’s the same one he wears for baptisms? He said it was as close as he could get. He has a gorgeous deep purple velvet one for the rest of Advent though.
 
I thought for sure my priest wore green. Maybe I’m wrong. Wait, actually it was purple I believe.

I just used this arguement on my wife. She’s still unimpressed with me. :rotfl:
 
Our pastor wore rose, but it was a darker rose, not as light as salmon but also definitely not a purple.

Our priest made a special point to say that the color WAS NOT pink! Several times! 😃

If I did not know better, I thought he was embarrassed by the color.

On second thought, I actually do not know better. 🤷

For years I used to look forward to Gaudete Sunday just to hear the priests explain that they were not wearing pink but rather rose. It was so predictable.😃
 
Ours wore purple. I don’t think the parish has rose vestments… though considering hes been a priest for a few decades and the parish pastor for more than one of them… I’m sure that could have been corrected if he wanted to.

Whatever his reason for not doing so, I was still happy last sunday. He gives good homilies and that days one was no different.
 
We had a guest priest at my parish at the Mass I went to last Sunday. He is around 6’5" and we do not have any rose vestments that are long enough for him. He wore purple, since my parish has a purple vestment that fit him. He did mention that is was Gaudete Sunday.

The regular priests at my parish wore rose vestments. They have rose vestments that fit them. Only the guest priest did not, due to the size problem.

Thanks for telling us The Truths, Dave BJ. (Luckily, that White/Red shade only worn once a year, by Tradition. And no Priest wants to be a pinko.)

Well, there is Laetare Sunday in Lent. But that seems to get a lot less attention than Gaudete Sunday.
