Were rose vestments worn in your parish this Gaudete Sunday?

I’ve always understood that the difference between violet and purple was that violet contained more blue and purple more red. Going past these points would lead to either magenta or indigo, which contain only a trace of the secondary color. In any case, the church allows for either purple or violet.

In my physics book, the spectral progression is blue, indigo, violet, ultraviolet. Magenta is purple.
 
I am a sort of a painter so mixing colors is quite fun. To make violet or light purple would would need to start out with pink,mix a bit of white with a big glob of red. This will not give you rose, may be a dark pink. Mix a bit of blue into the pink, to get violet. The more blue the darker the violet.
If you take a big glob of red and mix some blue into it you will get magenta. Deepening as you mix more blue, then if you add some white you may get rose.
If you take a big glob of blue and mix in some red you will get royal blue or depending how much you add you may get navy.
Experiment with poster colors as this is fun.
I had a hard time finding darker purple or dark violet candles so went with the magenta like dark cranberrry or cherry sent. I have a light pink candle with the magenta and the contrast is pretty.

This is quite interesting that the Church is going towards the darker pastels which I like and keeping some of the dark colors.

I don’t mind change but I like the colors to look right too. but then I try to talk ladies into marrying on their wedding day in any color wedding dress they want so some think I am a rebel. One lady got married in black with fuschia lace real pretty. Another lady felt she didn’t get married on her second marriage in white she felt bad but I told her peach is a nice color even for a first. Now that is off topic and I will get flack about it but we all can expect a bit of change in our life.
 
At my own parish, blue is worn in all Sundays in Advent. I made a point of going to the one parish in my diocese with a rose high mass set. Photo here.

Wherer are you from? Blue is not a liturgical color in the United States. The Ordo clearly state that while a bluish hue of purple could be used for Advent, blue is not the color. The GIRM for the US doesn’t even list blue as a liturgical color.
 
I am a communicant of the Anglican Church of Canada. Blue during Advent, inspired by the mediaeval “English Use,” is depressingly (for those of us of a more Tridentine bent) common here.
