Hey everyone,

I am listening to music, thinking about all of the posts I’ve been reading.

I have a paper to finish, laundry to do and I’m going curling for the very first time tonight.

Tell me your plans!?

I have a small painting project I am working on today. I need to do a second primer coat and then final paint. But I need to allow drying time between coats, so here I am. 😉

Shop for and attend a neighbor kid’s birthday party. Maybe go to the park in between since it is a really beautiful day.

I went to a Bereavement Mass in the next parish over. It was meant especially for those who lost loved ones in the past year, and now have to deal with getting through the holidays without them. People were invited to bring a picture of their loved one and put it on a table in front of the altar. There were probably about three dozen pictures, everything from elderly parents to young people to little babies. During the General Intercessions, they read off the names of everybody who died from their parish in the past year, and you could put a lighted candle up on the table to commemorate your deceased loved one. It was very nice.

After that I was tired so I decided to take it easy for the rest of today instead of driving someplace to do a chore as I had thought. I will catch up on my bills and some stuff for work and some prayers I am finishing late, and take another nap. I want to try the new KFC Chicken and Waffle item for lunch.

Our parish is having one of those masses too. They do it every year. Please let me know how the KFC is. I don’t usually eat there, but I saw the ad on tv and boy did that look good! 😋

KFC has had serious quality problems the last several years to the point where I have stopped eating there. I’m not expecting much from this chicken and waffle sandwich, but the ads with Colonel Sanders and Mrs. Butterworth are awesome. I have extra syrup in the house to dump on it if it turns out to be dry like I’m expecting.

I think the Bereavement Masses are a nice idea. At the very least it reminds you that you aren’t alone in your grief when you see 30 other pictures of people who have passed. I know they read off the names and put them in the bulletin, and the churches around here also have you write loved ones’ names on cards to be placed on the altar to receive prayers during the whole month of November (I put about 20 people on one card) but it’s different seeing a picture.

My cold is on its tail end (day 6), and I’m stuck on the couch coughing like crazy to clear my lungs.

So I’m on my computer working on my novel for today. It’s National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), and the goal is to write 50,000 words in the 30 days of November. I’m way behind, but am making good progress today.

Say a prayer for me, if you will. I’m trying to write a story about courage and strength – good versus evil and all that – with two Catholic families in a moderately dystopian society.

I’m always curious where these NaNoWriMo novels go once they are written. Do you all publish them? I have seen online acquaintances do this activity over the years but never actually seen a novel in print from it.

Yo i played an ice hockey match today and we won like 10:4
It was quite cool

There are a few published authors who participate in NaNo, and there are many wanna-be-published-authors who participate as well.

And then there are some of us who just have stories inside of us that we just want to write down.

If I ever make the time to edit what I’ve written, then perhaps I would attempt getting something published. But the speed at which all this needs to be written in order to reach that 50k word goal, means most of what I’m writing is a disjointed mess, with a few gems here and there.

But I love this story because my teenage son helped me create it. And the main character is based on him. 💕

Anyway, back to writing… ⌨️

Going curling?:thinking:Not sure what that is?
I’ll be driving to mass in a couple of hours some distance away, I’ll possibly stop at a cafe on the way back for a pot of tea.Looks like a sunny day.
I still have a cold so I wont be able to visit family this Sunday, another quiet day at home gardening perhaps.
