The way I see it: Call them attention wantersactually there is plenty wrong with that show…its quite like the maury povich show…
i mean why take your problems to tv land when you can settle it with your spouse etc etc. and i hate the mentality of the show - about 80-90% of the people who go on the show end in divorce. plus the environment is terrible - you have the audience getting in on the whole scandal. and basically peer pressuring the couple to split up even though they do not know the people from a bar of soap. honestly that is garbage. id rather watch the tyra banks show than that. (even though i really dislike the tyra banks show because it is all relative)
Wow… Are you sure about that???!
So they really don’t kill people !!
Every movie is fictional ,
and some, apparently, can’t see the difference between keeping one’s mind pure and not…even they are based on a true story !!
Only some people can’t see the differance between
reality & fiction , that can make it dangerous !!
rarely watch news… and even when i do, have seen very few wounded people…But what about the news , showing …
bomb attacks , dead , wounded people ??
Don’t worry - you will be used to that kind of thing…Hopefully they will never broadcast executions
on TV (as reality shows or whatever !!!)
That would be really horrible !!!
Once Catholic, always Catholic (at least to some extent)… and confession is good for everyone, whether they call themselves Catholic or not…Go to confession ??
As you know I’m not (a) catholic anymore !!
i could almost say the same thing… not quite because i have been wanting to watch the candidates… well, one more than the other…I am so glad i haven’t turned my TV on more then twice in the last 3 months!!!
There was a Cloverfield parody last night? Now I’m gonna have to find it on youtube…Oh man. SO many.
-Jerry Springer-it’s jerry springer. 'nuff said.
-South Park (although I’m ashamed to say I saw the two-part cloverfield parody that aired last night), horribly blasphemous and just wrong, don’t let the cute art style fool you.
-about 90% of what [adult swim] airs every night.
Yep, although the episodes (it was a two-part) were rather clean, still blasphemous, but nothing too extreme. Plus I always enjoy watching my favorite movies get parodied. There was a Cloverfield parody last night? Now I’m gonna have to find it on youtube…
Except for the few one you’ll on the internet !!Wow… Are you sure about that???
Like I said , reality & fiction are something different !!and some, apparently, can’t see the difference between keeping one’s mind pure and not…
Only sometimes they do show dead people !!rarely watch news… and even when i do, have seen very few wounded people…
So , for you it’s usual stuff to watch ??Don’t worry - you will be used to that kind of thing…
I call myself humanOnce Catholic, always Catholic (at least to some extent)…
Talking with friends , yes !!and confession is good for everyone, whether they call themselves Catholic or not…
That’s something for the religious-one !!and sacramental confession is even more powerful… as it comes from Christ…
More explanation needed , please ?!?!but i guess you would have to be sorry first…
i think my whole post went over your head…More explanation needed , please ?!?!
Everyone would be Catholic if they knew what i know…Talking about why I’m no catholic ,
and why I wouldn’t go to confession ??
That would be off-topic !!
wow… that’s bizarre… totally bizarre… i used to think TV ignored the Catholic Church for the most part (except to ridicule it) but i didn’t know they had gone that far (since i stopped watching TV - to speak of - for the last 10 yrs…)…Boston Legal; once my favorite show, stopped watching because during defense of a homeless man who ate his deceased friend, they used the Eucharist as a means to defend cannabalism;
Two and A Half Men, because they made a sexual innuendo about the relationships within the Trinity;
A lot of what’s left ties for 3rd.
What I think is interesting is the way that they accept the teaching that it’s the Body of Christ, and use it in the storyline.wow… that’s bizarre… totally bizarre… i used to think TV ignored the Catholic Church for the most part (except to ridicule it) but i didn’t know they had gone that far (since i stopped watching TV - to speak of - for the last 10 yrs…)…
such blashphemy!!
Father, forgive them for they know not what they do… "
thanks for that encouragment… I didn’t see it … Did you? But you are probably right… Hmm… i almost wish i had watched that kind of show… just so i could get a better feel for… well, for how right you may be…What I think is interesting is the way that they accept the teaching that it’s the Body of Christ, and use it in the storyline.
After all, if they thought the Church was wrong and that it is just a symbol, there would be no meaning to the storyline.
It makes me hope for all people in that even when they are using the Church for blasphemy, there must be some part of them that believes what the Church is teaching. Perhaps that little bit of knowledge will help them repent someday.
It’s funny how I know people who say it’s just a symbol, but yet the writers of this show must have believed it to a certain extent to write the storyline. I’m also glad they were aware of it, there are many who are not.
